The BA (Business Area) Product Engineering Manager for our Cloud/Backend teams is a both technical and people focused role at the center of our digital product development. Your assignment is to build, lead and organize our teams within Cloud/Backend and Middleware at BA IKEA Home smart, as well as leading across different topics, improvement work, planning and securing excellence in operations.  

With your seniority and experience you will guide and work closely together with our Software Engineers in hands-on software development and architecture. At BA IKEA Home smart, we work with a wide range of digital products, diverse requirements and have a high focus in creating user value for the many people. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Contribute to the Business Area strategies and business plan, in alignment with the Software Engineering Manager 
• Succession planning and recruitment within your area and team 
• Develop and secure the right competence level for each co-worker 
• Secure preconditions for efficient software development, such as tooling, pipelines and general architecture etc 
• Develop, maintain and improve ways of working within your area 

This position reports to our Software Engineering Manager.  

First and foremost, we are looking for you who have a solid and recent experience in hands-on development and architecture of complex Cloud/Backend software systems, and even better if this experience comes from Product Development within the IoT-space. You will lead a group of senior Software Engineers, and you will need to be heavily involved in day-to-day decisions concerning software architecture and implementation.  

Furthermore, you understand the full IKEA value chain and how to create preconditions for efficient development with a clear focus on what’s important. You have a strong drive to make things happen and to lead complex matters in a global context, with energy and curiosity. Leadership comes natural to you, and you have a proven track record of leading, coaching and developing Software Engineers. You feel aligned with the IKEA key values and have the ability to lead through communication, collaboration, trust and respect. 

And last but not least, you really enjoy building strong, autonomous and high-performing teams. Always, with a sense of humor.
