About you

You are highly interested in understanding the geographies we are working in as well as the reality of cotton production.  Additionally, you:

  • Some travel required domestic & international (50%).
  • Good knowledge of home furnishing textile production set-up.
  • Knowledge of ‘cotton & yarn market” (both domestic & international).
  • Motivate and inspire partners, suppliers, and business teams to continuously improve.
  • Bachelor’s degree required Masters preferred in related field
  • Fluent in English - both written and verbal

About the job

Being a Cotton Developer means you will lead & develop agenda of cotton from more sustainable resources within various category organizations in Purchasing & Logistics.  Create credibility and risk framework for securing the CMSS in the future.  The purpose of the job is to lead & secure the implementation of ‘resource & energy independence” part of IKEA sustainability strategy-‘people & planet positive.

About the assignment

The Cotton Developer will be responsible for many tasks.  These include but are not limited to:

  • Develop new outreach methods for mainstreaming the CMSS in cotton growing countries.
  • Bring supplies on board to participate in the creation of CMSS volume.
  • Carry out initial assessment of new suppliers before start-up.
  • Support Cotton Developers in other POAs.
