Inter IKEA Group have started the digital transformation. This is a journey which require that a new foundation for Product Master Data and its management is established for IKEA. We will now start the exciting journey to build this new core digital backbone for IKEA that will protect, secure and allow development of our key asset – Product Information.  We have been successful with the assets we have today and we will continue to be in the future while we work on this transition. We are looking for Data Scientists for the IKEA Product Information Management (IPIM) team.

Job Description

The Data Scientist will work together with the rest of the solution and product teams (Product Owner, Product Specialist, Software engineers, UX designers and solution architects) and business teams and turns business information needs to data requirements. You will also secure that any analytics that are needed will be part of the solutions we build and that those analytics can be something IKEA business can use to make decisions.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take a lead in turning business information needs into data needs for the solution teams
  • Make sure the business information needs are met with the solutions provided
  • Provide insights that help co-workers and stakeholders make better decisions around the MDM/PIM platform development to support the digital transformation
  • Propose and implement a framework of tools and deliverables to support the development of the MDM/PIM platform to be the optimal tool to manage the data needed in the digital transformation
  • Translate business/domain input into testable hypotheses, features/models, or metrics and the ensure that solutions fulfill and adapt to actual business needs
  • Proactively manage meetings with relevant stakeholders and/or teams to drive an intended outcome

Qualifications

  • Very good understanding of data management, master data management
  • Good understanding of the business value of data in different contexts, especially in business digitalisation
  • Good understanding of collaborative software engineering practices (Agile, DevOps)
  • Professional experience in requirement management, especially for data focused software
  • Professional experience as a Data Manager, Business Analyst, Data/Web Analyst or Data Scientist
  • Independent problem-solver, including an ability to create new templates/tools as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, network and build strong relations with team members and stakeholders
  • Preferred experience with digital product development
