In accordance with business plan, the Business Developer develops and implements – together with team members - common action plans with suppliers, delivering excellent performance in running operations and building professional long-term business development. The Business Developer loves continuously identifying cost out opportunities and to secure the implementation of it. Together with the team the Business Developer works with optimising the sourcing set-up, making it more and more optimal.

Your tasks will include:

• Be overall business responsible for supplier performance (Price Development, Quality, Logistic, Sustainability) and the business relationship
• Secure compliance to IKEA Purchasing Manual and other agreed working methods.
• Responsible to lower total cost at suppliers through optimizing the value chain, identifying opportunities in the cost breakdown, working with the Supplier development process and creating strong action plans together with the suppliers.

Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

• Min 3 years’ experience in purchasing
• Knowledge of supply chain and value chain analysis, supplier development process and cost breakdown analysis
• Ability and drive to take own initiatives to identify and implement cost out opportunities
• Good analytical skills
• Good finance knowledge
• Strong negotiation skills
• Experience and capability to create trust and effective relations
• Ability to engage and motivate people
• Fluent in English and strong communication skills

For the role, we estimate 30% travel time

We are looking for a candidate that has experience of being a Purchaser, Business Developer or Senior Production Engineer or Senior Supply Planner within purchasing who wants to take the step to become a Business Developer.
