About you

You are able to establish and develop high performing and diverse supplier base which can meet the needs of our Business and customer. You have a high interest in understanding the markets we are working in, as well as the reality of production.

Additionally, we believe that you:

  • Previous food purchase/procurement experience
  • Very good communication skills and ability to collaborate in virtual environment and global organization with ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate the capability to build trust and relationships in order to build long-term Business partnerships and establish productive team relationship with key stakeholders at retail across different countries
  • You enjoy negotiation and poses of good negotiation skills
  • You have ability to establish plans, lead and follow them up
  • Ability to analyze sales, stocks MS Excell literacy, have good finance knowledge
  • Have the desire to find new business opportunities and make it happen through engaging and motivating people
  • Take interest in people’s life at home; energy, drive, and commitment to deliver better product for the many people and sustainability
  • Are willing to travel as required (30%).
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree (required) or Master’s (preferred). (Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other relevant degree).

 

About the job

As a Business Developer/ Purchasing, you will develop and implement common action plans with your supplier partners, delivering excellent performance in running operations and building professional long term business development. You will also identify and act on new purchasing possibilities in order to secure optimal sourcing set-up.

 

About the assignment

Being a Business Developer/ Purchasing in FOOD, you will be overall responsible for supplier performance, relationship and overall cost of purchased food products.  Among other things, you:

  • Are responsible for building professional and long-term relationships through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust, and transparency with key partners in foodservice in USA and CANADA
  • Negotiate yearly prices on cost plus model and monitor KPI parameters
  • Ensure product compliance via the team members
  • Identify business consolidation opportunities & propose actions on them
  • Establish flexible product offer to cater for customer changing needs from existing foodservice partner
  • Professionally challenge suppliers to constantly improve all aspects of supplier performance according to supplier action plan in close cooperation with IKEA Transport & logistic services team
  • Pro-actively work together with retailers to integrate opportunities and act on deviations to Sourcing Assignment
  • Administer IKEA products at foodservice partners
  • Are responsible to lower total cost at supplier level through optimizing value chain.
  • Work closely in trader matrix and Supply Chain Operations  and contribute to strategy for foodservice partners in Americas, Europe and Asia
