Job Description

Are you the one who can help us by taking responsibility for the requirements during the whole development process of our physical products, disruptive IoT innovations that will shape the future life at home for millions of people?

Being a Product Requirement Engineer (PRE) for electronic products is a challenge! Since requirements vary from country to country and change all the time. As a PRE you work in close collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders and peers involved in the project during the whole development process, from beginning to the end of the development of a product. You will be a key player when it comes to identifying and creating product requirements forming the final end products, with an aim to secure that our products meet all the legal standards and the customer specific prerequisite.

In a day in the role as a PRE you will:

  • Define and create product requirements for end products.
  • Take part in reviewing prototypes & define product verification/validation tests during the development phase.
  • Initiate and secure/monitor/track that all certification tests are finalized successfully before product launch
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the product documentation
  • Having good insight of IKEA specifications, standards and test methods and keeping yourself updated on the latest changes that may influence the product areas
  • Be part of requirement forums to create/interpret regulatory and market specific requirements

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about product development and the important work to secure that the products are made in a compliant way, where the product requirements are in place.  You have experience from creating innovative solutions and a great user experience in the area of the IoT products. You know how to build and work in a structured way in a changing environment, with a lot of dynamic, where you are finding your way forward in a persistent and thorough manner. Furthermore you are a true solution oriented team player, who are good at building trustful relationships with others (e.g. supplier, test-labs) to secure that products are right from the beginning and meet all requirements. You have high entrepreneurial drive, you stretch boundaries and dare to challenge what already exists and always strive to develop better products and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.

You bring with you:

  • Relevant experience from the IoT/Electronics/product development Industry/Product certification/IEC standards
  • Capabilities and senior experience in working with requirements, testing and product certification
  • Knowledge and insights into requirements management and PLM systems
  • Capability to have a holistic view across the different technology domains
