Job Description

IKEA Components is a part of the IKEA Group and has the world as its working field with approx. 1400 employees. Our task is to create optimal prerequisites for the IKEA suppliers’ purchase of fittings and components regarding quality, availability, price and environment. IKEA Components has established units in Sweden, Slovakia & China and through co-operation with IKEA Purchasing Offices we are in addition represented at several sites around the world.

A Market Planner is the link between IKEA Components and the IKEA supplier on planning and logistic issues. The Market Planner ensures that the agreed business setups are followed, updated and improved to secure the highest level of product availability for IKEA's customers with the lowest total Supply Chain cost. A Market Planner works in close co-operation with the Market Developer and the Market Operator in IKEA Components as well as IKEA Purchasing and the IKEA suppliers.

About responsibilities

  • Responsible for IKEA suppliers within given business area,
  • Actively work with IKEA Purchasing on common goals and action plans. Cooperate with relevant internal resources, in order to develop the business, maximize IKEA benefit and achieve our goals,
  • Responsible for IKEA supplier satisfaction within given business area,
  • Actively work with IKEA Supplier - handling forecast, deviations, offers, price lists,
  • Make IKEA supplier and IKEA Purchasing visits according to the business need,
  • Actively support Market Developer and continuously improve our offer,
  • Support the process of new articles,
  • Being a natural back-up for related Market Developer when needed.

The job requires up to 30% of travelling per year.

  • High ability in solving problems and see holistic perspective
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Strong system skills (quick learner and precise in system)
  • Structured and organized in the daily work but as well flexible when need to meet demands of IKEA suppliers
  • Fluent verbal and written English,
  • Economic and Financial knowledge,
  • Good knowledge of logistics and distribution methods,
  • Basic market knowledge (competitors, prices, etc.),
  • University graduate with 2 years of relevant work experience in an international company is preferred,
  • Driving license
