We are looking for a Specialist in the 3D CAD area to the Product Engineering & Requirement team. You will belong to the Process & IT tools department at Range & Product Development and your title will be Functional Expert.

Job Description

In the Product Engineering & Requirements team we work with a number of different
IT Tools that we use to develop and maintain our products, including engineering, documentation, legal requirements etc.

This job is about supporting business and end users within product development with enhancement of software we use, support and teach users to work in the software and to develop ways of working and best practices.

The team consists of several Solution Owners, Business Analysts and Solution Architects working together developing user friendly business solutions.

As a Functional Expert in 3D CAD you will work in a supporting role where you are part of a team that supports the product development process in IKEA of Sweden.

You will mainly work with following:

  • Support our user community as well as other stakeholders with the tools you and your team are responsible for.
  • Conduct trainings for our end users to ensure they have proper skills in our tools and use them as intended.
  • Contribute to the creation of solution documentation in co-operation with process/business teams and IT Suppliers. Contribute to the creation of the ‘learning offer’ for the solution including training materials and delivery of training.
  • Work with both SolidWorks, for mechanical CAD, as well as other tools for soft products like cushions, soft toys, covers, curtains etc.
  •  
  • Help defining best practices, ways of working as well as troubleshooting in collaboration with other teams and stakeholders.
  • You will work with knowledge base articles to help our user community to have access to relevant and correct information and self-service. This includes creating video tutorials and guides.
  • You will be part of analyzing business needs to help improving our tools, to become more efficient in Product development and support our business in a better way
  • You will assist with our Super User groups to make sure they have relevant information and are able to support their colleagues in a good way.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

  • You have expert knowledge in 3D CAD modelling
  • You are and advanced user in SolidWorks, able to manage most part of the SolidWorks platform with skills in advanced modeling and large assemblies
  • You have a high interest for rendering and visualizing digital products and have experience of other CAD tools or Polygon modeling applications i.e 3DStudio Max, Blender, CLO (marvelous designer) etc.
  • You have troubleshooting skills that can be applied to support users with issues
  • You are able to define ways of working and best practices based on different modeling challenges, product types and/or business needs.
  • You have experience of PDM/PLM systems.
  • You have pedagogical skills and experience of teaching in front of a group
  • You have skills in explaining complex scenarios and functionalities in an easy manner so people understand
  • You are good at identify, analyze and challenge business needs.
  • You are end user focused and service minded.
  • You are able to work self-sufficiently and take own initiatives.
  • You have good understanding of working in agile environments.

Process & IT tools department at Range & Product Development manage and develop around 40 IT solutions, supporting users globally in the following areas:

  • Product Development
  • Range Management
  • Product Information to our customers
  • Product Documentation to our suppliers
  • Compliance reporting
  • Sustainability performance
  • Sales Collaboration

We manages the portfolio of all initiatives with an IT component and lead and develop current and new solutions connected to the product development process. This is done in projects, major enhancements initiatives or in a continuous improvements work. We also support users with communication, learning and subject matter expertise.

In running business solutions there's a continuous work ongoing to improve the solutions. These improvements are implemented in so called Releases.

We work in an international environment which could lead to some travelling but primary location for this assignment is Älmhult.
