About IKEA Consumer & Market Insights (ICMI)

ICMI has the assignment to contribute to IKEA people making well founded decisions based on actionable and timely insights. ICMI delivers Consumer Insights, Strategy & Market Insights, and Brand & Range Insights. Each of these three areas develops and/or operates insight products to IKEA people across our value chain. Within the Insight Integration Manager's role, you are part of the ICMI management team. You will have a team which reports to you composed of Insight Specialists and Insight Capability Leaders.

Key responsibilities

  •  Lead, inspire and empower a team of Insight Specialists and Insight Capability leaders.
  • Lead the Insights integration team to deliver high quality integrated insights to the IKEA business for maximum impact and at the lowest cost possible (leveraging internal and external resources).
  • Lead the co-creation of actionable insight as an input to the Business Planning and Strategy processes and as a common starting point for any development activity (development of products and services, meeting places, communication) in close partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Accountable for leading the development of the right capabilities, principles, standards and frameworks to support all insight specialists to deliver functional excellence. Accountable for safeguarding compliance and consistency with insight frameworks, standards and principles. 
  • Coach, develop, evaluate, and promote people in delivering actionable insight and influencing business decisions across all parts of IKEA.
  • Coach the team to adopt agile ways of working in how they source and analyse data, prioritise business requests, and work together with the insight product teams. 
  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession planning for Insights integration co-workers.
  • Grow and empower co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.

Knowledge

  • Very good knowledge of research methodologies for integrating consumer and market insights and trends.
  • Proven track record of influencing business decisions on executive level.
  • Understanding of Home Furnishing, retail and adjacent industry best practices for trends identification and application, as well as testing capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of leading and developing people.
  • Knowledge of IKEA franchise system, vision and culture and values.

  • Actively build a knowledge-sharing network (external and internal) and competence to enable constant development in the IKEA value chain.

Required/ Relevant work experience

  •  Master degree within the areas of Business, Marketing and Communication, Economics or related fields.
  •  At least 10 years of experience in equal/comparable position with at least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Previous experience working with agile methodology and agile leadership.
  • Preferred: previous knowledge about the IKEA valuechain
