IKEA Range & Supply (IKEA R&S) – Information Security & Data Privacy is now looking for an Information Security/Data Privacy Leader with a focus on Security and Data Privacy by design.

IKEA R&S is an organisation consisting of two main holding entities, IKEA of Sweden (Range) and IKEA Supply AG (Supply). We have the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. To make this possible, we have more than 7000 co-workers situated in different organisations around the world.  

IKEA R&S Digital, where this role will be situated, leads and guides the totality of the IKEA R&S digital landscape by combining business knowledge, digital competence and ways of working, realising business opportunities today and tomorrow. 

Job Description

In the Information Security & Data Privacy team, we support our business in understanding the value of information and digital assets; to ensure it is trustworthy, available when needed, managed with a particular attention to privacy and properly protected to foster customers’ trust in IKEA. All to create a better everyday life for the many people. We ensure that information security and data privacy is naturally integrated in the business development. Internet of Things, Virtual reality, app development and global legal challenges are all parts of our scope.

Your focus will be information security, compliance and risk, working together with other teams supporting the strategic programs and projects with security and data privacy by design. This includes web application security, cloud security, security in Internet of Things, Application Programming Interface and System Development Lifecycle.

We are looking for an Information Security and Data Privacy Leader with experience and knowledge across multiple security domains that can help us build the future of IKEA. Our ethos is security and privacy by design. We expect security to be a built-in quality aspect, not a bolted-on property.

As an Information Security and Data Privacy Leader, you will work closely together with the business, architects and engineers, focusing on enabling IKEA to produce secure and high-quality services and products, to create a better everyday life for the many people. In this role you will be the spokesperson for Security and Privacy by design and incorporate yourself in ongoing projects and initiatives.

You will support and secure the development of products and services all across the value chain within IKEA Range & Supply, in close cooperation with Inter IKEA Group. You will drive your own agenda and work closely with our specialists within cloud security, legal, risk management and compliance to mention a few.

The responsibilities in your role include:

  • Ensure that information security requirements are taken care of in the development of new product information ways of working and platforms, to minimize risks by design
  • Develop future ways of working for detecting information security breaches, and responding to them 
  • Prepare roll-out of new ways of working for prevention, detection and response across the IKEA value chain with relevant stakeholders

To succeed in this role you need to have an interest in home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home, and be excited by our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people. 
We are looking for the following basic qualifications for all candidates:

  • You have a strong knowledge of information security, for example based on a master degree in data analytics or similar
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in information security
  • You have an interest in IT solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • You are a problem solver, not only once, but scalable in a structured way
  • You enjoy working in an agile and iterative way, in an environment that is not yet fully set
  • You work easily with others outside the central ISDP team in the rest of the IKEA value chain
  • You have excellent communication and networking skills
  • You can communicate effectively in English both writing and speaking

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from working with data privacy/protection legislations, including GDPR, China Cyber Law and Russian Data privacy legislation as well as have experience with improvement methodologies, e.g. lean, six sigma or similar. 

We believe that you are used to managing highly confidential information and to act with a strict level of integrity and professional discretion. You are comfortable with communicating and explaining security concerns and topics, to persons with and without solid understanding of information technology. With your excellent communication skills you have the capability to build strong relations with both internal as external stakeholders.
