About IKEA Planning Experience (IPEX)
The goal of IPEX is to support and empower customers to find their personal best home furnishing solutions. We run and develop digital solutions used by customers and co-workers enabling them to design homes and home furnishing solutions for the entire IKEA range for all IKEA retailers. Part of our portfolio are planning solutions for Kitchens, Bathrooms, Storage solutions, Beds... Our next big step ahead will be to enable customers to design their full homes.

Our customers should experience an inspiring, fun, simple and rewarding planning journey based on their needs and preferences. Our co-workers and service partners should experience a fun, efficient and unbroken sales process.

The solutions and capabilities we develop are an integral part of the entire seamless buying and selling experience and a key contributor to converting visitors into happy customers and to engaging with our customers from the start. Job Description

Being the UX manager in the IPEX team

As the UX manager in the IPEX team you will be part of a great team and create digital solutions that enable customers to design any space in their homes and businesses and configure home furnishing solutions.

You will lead and continuously refine the IPEX user experience approach and agenda as a key element of the IPEX strategy and roadmap, safeguarding that we create seamless, intuitive and convenient planning experiences. This based on our knowledge about life at home and amplifying human capabilities to fulfil home furnishing needs. With our solutions we strive for help people to do something they cannot do themselves. Something that improves the outcome and that make users enjoy the process of using our tools. Everything we do should be embedded into the full seamless experience for IKEA customers and co-workers.

As UX Manager you will lead and develop the UX team that will report to you. Through inspiring, coaching and supporting the competence development of the team, you will set the pre-requisites for the team to stay skilled, motivated and empowered, enabling our specialists to continue designing, building and further refining great user experiences together with their respective Product teams, securing that our objectives are fulfilled.

You will also lead and contribute to the overall development of the right capabilities, principles, standards and frameworks related to the UX area within IPEX, Core Business Franchise and across IKEA.

In your role you will always have the customer top of mind, using data to provide key insights about the needs and desires of customers and co-workers. You will contribute to setting goals and following up to ensure that customers and co-workers are satisfied.

You will interact and collaborate with stakeholders across IKEA, franchisees and customers, to understand needs and synergies and drive that we create seamless experiences and contribute to optimizing ways of working within IPEX and beyond is always on your mind.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role

You have a deep understanding of and are passionate about life at home and creating seamless and convenient experiences. You enjoy creating experiences that are playful and intuitive and are driven by creating value for our customers and co-workers and where something complex (like for example designing a new Livingroom) becomes simple. You understand how emerging technologies and trends can improve customer and co-worker experiences. It´s like you are stumbling over opportunities for improvement of experiences and also see great experiences in your everyday life all the time, seeing potentials and what could be relevant for what we are doing in IPEX.

You bring solid experience as a specialist and leader in design of mainly digital products and you have a proven track record of successful solutions you were part of creating. You see the big picture and how a complete experience comes together, but also have an eye for details in the design that make the difference and give that final touch.

You have a solid technology understanding enabling you to understand the technical aspects of realizing the designs we are creating and what's involved in integrating those technical components. You bring the capability to balance the focus on technology and the focus on creating user experience, creating sustainable and at the same time future oriented solutions that fulfil user and business needs.

You have a deep interest in and understanding for how to use data and various research and test methodologies to continuously improve user experience.

You are a strong and experienced leader with the ability to lead, coach and develop the IPEX UX team, no matter if it´s about the big picture or hands on support. You are able to build strong relations and trust with your peers and stakeholders and are comfortable with complex prioritization and situations where priorities need to be discussed and agreed upon with strong and vocal stakeholders, to leverage your resources in the best way to achieve the strongest outcome.

You make mistakes sometimes that keep you evolving and learning as you are not afraid to find new ways to solve a challenging task together with your colleagues.

You bring extensive experience and knowledge in software development and are fully familiar with agile/ devops practices and how UX is an integrated part of the development. Ideally, you have experience in driving design work in an organization of cross-functional product teams.

You enjoy an agile and iterative, yet structured way of working and achieving results together with a team in a flexible environment, but also have a strong individual drive to deliver high quality results on time. You have great communication and networking skills and are fluent in written and spoken English.
