Sustainability Developer - Textile (SH)

Job Description

As Sustainability Developer for a Category Area Textile you will, together with the Category Area Sustainability Manager, lead and support the Sustainability agenda of the Category Area. You will support the business development teams to set priorities, and develop and implement common action plans with suppliers to meet Sustainability goals within specific areas of expertise in line with the Category Area plans.

You will also be an active member of the a global matrix for your category area and contribute to the sustainability agenda development by leading and/or contributing to global development projects, and you will actively support suppliers to ensure that they are compliant with IKEA standards around sustainability and make it integral part of their management systems in close alignment with the Purchase Operations Areas.

You main responsibilities will include:
 
• Supporting the business development teams in the sustainability assessment of potential new and existing suppliers.
• Leading and/or supporting sustainability related supplier development projects in alignment with category plans and priorities, such as product improvements, critical materials and alternative materials.
• Motivating suppliers and business development teams to continuously identify new sustainability related business opportunities.
• Supporting business development teams in the implementation of global sustainability working methods, tools and IT-systems.
• Taking the responsibility to collect, verify, aggregate and report sustainability data and provide relevant analysis to support business decisions to the Category Area suppliers.
• Supporting the business development teams in the sustainability assessment of potential new and existing suppliers.

Qualifications

We believe you have following knowledge and Experience:

• A proven record of consistently delivering strong results in developing the business
• You are goal oriented and business-minded with a strong understanding of IKEA ways of working
• You are skilled in communicating and partnering with co-workers across all levels of the organization
• You have a structured approach in analysis and shown strong project management skills.
• You are able to prioritize and take decisions
• You have experience connected to sustainability and deep knowledge in specific area/s in sustainability agenda (e.g., energy, water, waste, materials)
• A relevant university degree (sustainability or engineering) would be an advantage.
