IKEA Components is looking for a Requirement & Design Engineer (RDE) to our great team of Engineers. The base in your work will be to work with traditional tasks for a Requirement & Design Engineer, such as CAD Design of components, requirement work and test and verification. For this role you will have a special assignment, which will take the most of your time, but it can vary. The special assignment task will be: 

  • Life cycle analysis in SimaPro 
  • Material requirement management in our PLM system PLUS and migration to IKEA of Sweden´s material library 
  • Support RDE in material choices 
  • Contribute to material plans 

In other words – you will help us move our part of the agenda for a more sustainable development. It could also be that you will be stepping in as a speaking partner in the Management board and to Business Navigation, challenging our ways of working with improvement suggestions and finding the best way forward with a goal to fulfil the agenda. And of course – you will have a lot of fun! 

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have around 2-3 years of experience in a role as Development Engineer within Mechanics. You have good knowledge in the materials Polymer and/or Steel. You have previously been working with Life cycle analysis and you are finding this highly interesting and important for the future. Ideally you have a university degree within engineering in a relevant field. As a person you are down to earth, pragmatic solution orientated with a sparkling curiosity that will lead you forward in the unknown. You know how to make it happen! IKEA is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and therefore you need to speak and write in English. You have the ability to communicate clearly and are open minded. You know the importance of working with stakeholders, internal as well as external.
