Job Description

As a Product Requirement Engineer (PRE) Electronics you work very close to the Product Design Engineer during the whole development process of our physical products. Being a PRE for electronic products is a challenge! Since requirements vary from country to country and change all the time.

As PRE you are responsible for:

  • Identifying and creating the right product requirements to secure that our products meet all the legal standards and the customer specific requirements
  • Choosing test methods for the product areas and the creation of new tests if needed for product validation
  • Having good insight of IKEA specifications, standards and test methods and keeping yourself updated on the latest changes that may influence the product areas
  • The creation and maintenance of the product documentation including certification
  • Securing that all certification tests are finalised successfully before product launch

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about creating innovative solutions and a great user experience in the area of the smart homes. You know how to work in a structured way and your collaborate with others (e.g. supplier, test-labs) to secure that products are right from the beginning and meet all requirements. You are experienced and motivated by working in a changing environment, with a lot of dynamic. Furthermore you are a true solution-oriented team player, with high entrepreneurial drive, you stretch boundaries and dare to challenge what already exists and always strive to develop better products and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.

You bring with you:

  • Relevant experience from the IoT/Electronics/Software/product development Industry
  • Capabilities and experience in working with requirements, testing and product certification
  • Knowledge and insights into requirements management and statistics tools (e.g. QFD, minitab, Excel)
  • Capability to have a holistic view across the different technology domains
