We are looking for  problem solvers and inspiring project leaders to take on the challenge to lead some of the most important strategic movements in IKEA Core Business Supply going forward.

The Business Development Project Office (BDPO) is a competence centre for Project Management and a global function for delivering strategic projects across the business units in Supply*.
We are a team of approximately 30 problem-solvers and project management professionals with the mission to strengthen and accelerate strategic business development in Supply. We partner up with our stakeholders to secure full delivery, on time or faster, in every project.

We primarily focus on supporting the following types of projects:
• Strategy, business planning, material direction, business and capability model development, operating model design
• Business transformation and organisational development
• Digital enablement and business acceleration
• Value chain design and optimisation, incl. sourcing, manufacturing, services, logistics
• Production concept development
• Development and deployment of new materials and innovations
• Performance and process improvement, including new process design and process re-design

BDPO is not only about realising the Supply strategy, maximising impact and value realisation for our customers in every project, and supporting our stakeholders by catering for their business needs. BDPO is also a place to accelerate co-workers´ competence development and export talents further into IKEA.

Since our start in FY18, we have contributed to delivering over 200 strategic business development projects of different types. For example: Operational integration of business units, Material direction, Strategic direction for Category BPL, Logistic innovation lab, Transactional finance transformation.

In BDPO we have two types of project management roles, Business Development Project Leader (BDPL) and Business Development Project Partner (BDPP). We work in project group constellations that usually consist of one BDPL managing and being overall responsible for the project and one or several BDPP(s) contributing to the projects by leading delivery streams, having responsibility for specific deliverables.

* Scope includes; IKEA Components, Purchasing Development, Purchasing & Logistics Areas, Supply Chain Development, Supply Chain Operation, Wholesale.

Job Description

As Business Development Project Partner, you support our business stakeholders, senior leaders across business units, in strengthening and accelerating strategic business development in Core Business Supply.
You contribute to a number of complex projects, leading delivery streams, in a truly global environment with project members, functional team members, and business stakeholders all over the world. You enable and secure excellent performance in every project; full delivery, on time or faster; lead the process of data collection, data analysis and building recommendations.

In this assignment you will:
• play a key role in the overall project by leading or supporting one or several value streams throughout the project life cycle, motivating the teams to common goals;
• lead the way with outstanding business analyses and problem solving skills, and strong entrepreneurial drive;
• proactively contribute with knowledge & experience to the BDPO team & stakeholders, and contribute to the BDPO as a competence centre for project management and strategic business development.

We search for individuals who can adapt their leadership and communication approach when needed to always maximise the value creation for IKEA. In the role, you act as an important ambassador of IKEA values and a role-model for fact-based business leadership.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you have a solid business understanding and background, solid skills and experience in working with projects across multiple functional areas.
