Our Home smart platform is going through changes and feature growth in order to support our expanding eco-system. We need someone to take technical ownership of our platform and make sure that we are aligned across all our technologies and releases - from embedded software, to our app versions, into our backend-systems and cloud integrations.
In this role you will work closely both with our Product Owners but also with our great development teams and technical area leads from each field. In this role you will be involved in architectural decisions for the system as a whole, including prioritising and planning our technical roadmap, both short- and long term. The role is broad in technical terms and responsibility, ranging from setting up best practices together with our firmware team, to implement best strategy in marketing and communication with our users through the app, and everything in-between. You are not expected to have all the answers on a detailed level, we have area leads supporting, but in this role you should be able to lead the overall work in an aligned manner and make sure that our technical solution and frameworks chosen creates a stable, efficient and user-friendly system as a whole. In this role you will report to our Software Engineering Manager.
We’re doing some amazing things at Business Area (BA) IKEA Home Smart, therefore we need some amazing people – this position is not an exception. Since your scope is to own the technical platform, we need you to have a broad technical skill set. You don’t have to be an expert in all domains, the important thing as that you’re able to quickly adapt. You’ve probably been working in a digital product company or in the consultancy business, trying out different companies and technics. We work in a lot of different technical fields; cloud, app, firmware and gateway. You’ve probably worked with a number of this fields! As a person you like working in an agile, entrepreneurial environment. Since you will be leading the technical development of the platform, you’re not afraid to make uncomfortable decisions. You lead by example and value clarity and communication. We believe that you have a solid transformational leadership experience, preferably from a flexible and dynamic environment. Our corporate language is English, so you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
