Now we’re looking for our next star to join our Software Team to strengthening our teams with a great Android Developer, who is ready to take the BA IKEA Home smart app to the next step. We are currently building the next generation of the BA IKEA Home smart eco-system with our mobile application, cloud & backend services and embedded systems. We love what we do, for real, which reflects in our highly motivating work environment.

Typical tasks in your role:

• Development of new features and enhancements for our IKEA Home smart app
• Cross-team collaboration between app, cloud & backend, and embedded systems
• Bringing in third party open source tools as needed
• Contribute to setting up and tuning the organization and ways of working
• Prototyping new ideas, both individually and across teams (we love prototyping!)

You will report to our Software Engineering Manager, Niklas, and work in close collaboration with the app-team. At BA IKEA Home smart we value cross-team collaboration and you will get the opportunity to work with all the other technical teams, giving you the opportunity to broaden your own knowledge.

As a person, you see yourself as a true team player and open to learning more so you can support across our full Home smart ecosystem. You have a great interest in development based on agile principles and are motivated of being part of a dynamic environment where the entrepreneurial spirit is high! We believe that you’ve been working with development of complex mobile applications for at least 2 – 3 years. You love creating innovative solutions and great user experience! Your background is within frontend development of customer-facing apps from the IoT/Electronics/Software Industry and you are able to develop software from the beginning to the end. An interest for smart homes is a given and if you have experience in the field it’s a huge plus!
