The task of IKEA Components within IKEA is to pursue the development of future unique and customer-friendly solutions within fittings and components to the IKEA range. We create substantial cost and quality benefits for IKEA in our development and supply of raw materials, components and fittings. IKEA Components is part of the Inter IKEA group and shares the IKEA vision and values. Our business is global and employs 1500 people based in Sweden, Slovakia and China. Through co-operation with IKEA Purchasing and Logistic areas, we are also represented at several other sites around the world.

Job Description

  • Securing preconditions for an efficient transport execution process, considering adjacent/impacted activities (holistic view).

  • Securing preconditions for efficient P&D delivery planning and optimisation.

  • Overall responsibility for transport performance (availability, cost) from and within assigned market.

  • Act in the best interest of the IKEA customers, ensuring availability at total lower costs.

  • Be an integrated resource in IKEA Supply Chain ensuring common direction and action towards agreed goals. 

  • Responsible to secure compliance and adherence to applicable laws and IKEA standards.

  • Responsible for securing qualitative information/communication throughout the planning and supplying process. Providing relevant stakeholders with accurate information and plans.

  • Contribute to and lead implementation of relevant supply and logistical action plans.

  • Responsible for all aspects and processes within People leadership (Develop Business and People together) e g; recruitment, retention, performance & development, succession, comp & ben, work conditions and cost centre responsibility

Qualifications

CAPABILITIES

  • Ability to combine working on a strategic level while acting on an operational/tactical level

  • Leading with holistic view. Always having Customer, Supplier, IKEA and total cost development in mind.

  • Ability to lead business through people by demonstrating strong leadership capabilities

  • Capability to perform business analysis, risk assessment, scenario planning and draw conclusions to support the right business decision and implementations

  • Capability to lead, develop and inspire people - act as coach and mentor.

  • Ability to lead and develop people.

KNOWLEDGE

  • University degree in logistics, economics, business administration or relevant working experience.

  • Good understanding of the transport industry.

  • Good understanding of the IKEA Supply Chain.

  • Experience of leading and developing a team and team members.
