Development Support are Core Business Franchise cross-organisationally development organisation and partners in exploring, developing and delivering solutions to the business. The work is done across Core Business Franchise and, together with Core Business Range & Supply and all IKEA franchisees, in order to create a common and unique IKEA way to engage our customers and offer them relevant services.

Job Description

Some of the main responsibilities, contributions and activities are:

·       Managing the complete development support portfolios, cross leadership business assignments and creating a workable overview.

·       Inspire and empower co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.

·       Recruit, appoint, and lead and a competent and high-performing Project Leader team with appropriate knowledge, capabilities & motivation.

·       Work together with project leaders, development leaders, exploration leaders and relevant business owners to define scope and associated business (exploration) cases. First point of validation in business case methodology.

·       Works together with Business Navigation and associated Leadership areas to track deliverables and ensure business realization of projects/assignments.

·       Manage dependencies across projects and assignments to secure efficient and effective deployment of delivered projects

·       Secure agreed processes, principles and governance for innovation and development in ongoing projects.

·       Development budget forecast of resources, capability, cost, time, quality, risk for the development portfolio.

·       Responsible for overall risk management and helps individual projects/assignments in mitigation and planning. 

·       Responsible for tools, standards and methodology i.e. project management templates

What we expect you to bring with you

·       Experience in working with business and development processes.

·       Lead and work effectively in cross-functional and cross-organisational teams towards set goals.

·       Able to build a team and develop, motivate, empower and challenge people who report directly as well as through matrix relationships.

·       Capability to organise, plan, multitask and prioritise work.

·       Capability to build development network

·       Tech-savvy-ability to grasp and lead digital projects.

·       Strong problem solving, organisational and prioritisation skills.

·       Ability to apply an outside-in perspective, putting the user in the centre of the development.

 

Qualifications

·       Several years of experience leading complex teams with senior members.

·       Experience working with business development.

·       Proven track record of interdependent leadership

·       Recent senior IKEA retail experience from multichannel retailing especially in the field of customer facing solutions.

·       Experience leading or ordering large global projects or programs.

You are a team builder that enjoys connecting people with different capabilities. You also like to organise and set things up. You are used to work in changing environment close to the customer. You have an interest in development and innovation and see opportunities in discovering the unknown. You are accustomed to working with people with different backgrounds, appreciating diversity. Additional Information

In this role, you report directly to the Development Support Manager. That said, it’s critical to work cross-functionally with other colleagues, stakeholders in Core Business Franchise and other organisations, and to collaborate closely with business leaders across IKEA. As we are in the process of changing the way we are organised in Core Business Franchise, additional responsibilities may arise.

This position is based in Delft, the Netherlands, but in exceptional cases with the right candidate, this position could be based in south of Sweden instead.
