A product without a price tag is always wrong – Solution Area PTAG supports users in all IKEA stores around the world, printing price and product information, we are part of the Digital Transformation in Marketing & Communication at IKEA of Sweden.

Inter IKEA Range & Supply, R&S, is a core business within Inter IKEA Group, responsible for developing and supplying the global IKEA range. IKEA of Sweden AB, or IoS, is one of two core units within Range & Supply, and is responsible for developing and determining the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult – the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development and supply chain.

We will strengthen the core of what we do in Range & Supply and Marketing & Communication is one of these areas. Marketing & Communication focuses on strategic development of the IKEA product and range marketing and communication, brand building communication as well as communication to the many people inside and outside of IKEA.

We are looking for a Solution Architect to our PTAG team in Älmhult.

The assignment

• In a close dialog with stakeholders create and shape business and digital ideas into current state, future state and transition states to guide the detailed design and delivery of business solutions.
• Keep up-to-date with technology trends and have an interest in learning new to support the business need.
• Select best fitted solution for the given business requirement and develop proof of concept in close collaboration with the development team, excelling the business need!
• Govern that the design of the solutions conforms to the solution architecture and is efficient, meet business requirements and based on a holistic architecture.
• Responsible for securing the architecture vision and goals of the Marketing & Communication area in the solution architecture and the system development.
• In close collaboration with IT architects lead solution activities within the domain, establish solution/infrastructure design in accordance to the architecture and provide technology advice.
• Having knowledge about and develop capabilities for the hardware used by the PTAG solution. E.g. portable and stationary printers and plotters, mobile and stationary devices.

Are you the right candidate?

PTAG is the solution used by IKEA physical meeting points to print price and product information to all IKEA visitors, which will enable them to make purchase decisions and compare products on their own.

We have a home built new solution with capabilities supporting the business need now and in the future. The new solution is built with technologies such as Angular, Java, Apache Kafka hosted on Akamai, GCP and Openshift. We are working in an Agile way in sprints with close co-operation with our users for feedback.

• We believe you have worked in a development leading position at least 2-3 years’ and have experience of digital development processes and of solution architecture concepts.
• You are experienced in using models, methods and tools within analysis and design and have solid knowledge of general digital frames e.g. standards, infrastructure and platforms, frameworks, development concepts and processes. If you know or even work with the IKEA digital landscape, it will be a bonus.
• You have excellent analytical skills. You are able to see the big picture as well as the details and to structure information and derive conclusions and consequences out of them. For you, quality is important.
• You are able to interact with strong stakeholders confidently – understand them and their needs as well as making them understand you.
• You are interested in business and like to see how digital capabilities can enable people to achieve business results. You feel comfortable to explain technical information to people in a simple and easy-to understand way.
