Job Description

Please note that that the role is based in Älmhult and is a temporary employment from 2020-12-01 to 2021-09-30.

We are now looking for a Business Developer in Category Food Logistics to secure the business objectives according to relevant IKEA strategic direction and Category Business Plan. You establish and develop high performing service providers' base, meeting the needs of business and our customers today and in the future. You contribute to the optimisation of the value chain that creates better products and services at lower total costs to reach more of the many customers.

You will work for Category Area Logistics Services and report to the Business Development Manager. You will contribute to the build-up of the Food Logistics Team for the UK, Switzerland, Japan and Australian market. As Business Developer, you will have Logistics Service Providers responsibilities, covering ocean.

Your tasks will include:

  • Be responsible for the business development with a number of Food Logistics service providers and a defined business scope;
  • Continuously develops Food Logistics service providers to secure long term capacity needs and customer availability;
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of relevant transport market conditions, keeps up-to-date with industry trends, incl. innovative approaches is aware of economical influences (resulting to e.g. network/flow changes, etc.). Follows the development of legal/regulatory framework.
  • Be responsible for minimizing the prices and contributing to lower cost for a number of Food Logistics service providers;
  • Increases and secures the Food Logistics Service Providers performance level, fulfilling the IKEA demands;
  • Establishes and secures the fulfilment of Food Logistics agreements /contracts;
  • Increases the share of low emission Food Logistics modes;
  • Work on results optimisation;
  • Active looking for new/potential service providers;
  • Takes the role as IKEA ambassador when communicating with external parties.

Qualifications

  • Working experience of minimum 3 years in negotiation roles in multinational Companies (preferred in transport/logistic Companies/roles);
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changes;
  • Preferred knowledge of the food logistics market;
  • Preferred university degree in Transport & Logistics field
  • Strong relationship management skills;
  • Ability to build long term and trustful relationships;
  • Effective communication skills with clear logic and structured approach to business;
  • English Fluent;
  • Strong personal values.
