New technology is changing behaviour and the demands for new ways to interact and share real-time insights are essential for continuous growth. IKEA Product Information Management Programme is one part of our digital transformation journey towards creating success for IKEA. The purpose of the programme is to create a connected flow for product information across our value chain to enable business movements supporting IKEA into the future. As a consequence we need to transition from our current into a future landscape. The IT Transition Management assignment is working on how to manage the transition from current landscape into a new digital IKEA product information landscape while securing business continuity. We are building new capabilities to manage the IT Transition, migrate data and functionality and manage coexistence between old to new during the transition period.

In this exciting journey we are now looking for Solution Architects who wants to lead the development of our capabilities within IT Transition and to be part of IKEA digital transformation, working closely together with colleagues across IKEA.

We are looking for Solution Architects to work in the IT transition management area in the IKEA product information management programme

IT transition management is an area that is an enabler for the change in the system landscape that needs to be done within the IKEA product information management programme. In this area you will be part of designing and implementing solutions for migrating, transitioning and enable coexistence between the current and future application landscape.

The IT transition management area is where the move from the current to the future landscape will be managed. It includes management of the technology that is needed in order to facilitate the transition. This means that both data, applications and foundational technology pieces will be replaced. The solutions that will be created and managed a service offering will be utilized by the programme and later by line organisations.

Job Description

The assignment will include

  • Responsible for detailing IT functional and non-functional requirements for given business requirements in the business solution delivery process and project management (support with clarifying business requirements if needed).
  • Secure that IT solutions fulfil the agreed functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Secure, develop and review high-level design. Approve low-level design of the implementation of a business transformation with an IT component in order to support running business, provide guidance towards service improvements and service transition.
  • Govern that the design of the solutions conforms to the solution architecture and is efficient, meet business requirements and based on a holistic architecture.
  • Is responsible for securing the architecture vision and goals of the IT transition area in the solution architecture and the system development process.
  • In a close dialog with stakeholders create and shape business and IT-related ideas into current state, future state and transition states to guide the detailed design and delivery of business solutions.
  • In close collaboration with IT architects lead solution activities within the domain, establish solution/infrastructure design in accordance to the architecture and provide technology advice.

Qualifications

If you are the right candidate we believe you:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of IT development processes and of solution architecture concepts. A former developer experience can be even better.
  • Are experienced in using models, methods and tools within analysis and design and have solid knowledge of general IT frames e.g. standards, infrastructure and platforms, frameworks, development concepts and processes. If you know or even work with IKEA IT landscape, it will be a bonus.
  • Have excellent analytical skills. You are able to see the big picture as well as the details and to structure information and derive conclusions and consequences out of them. For you, quality is important.
  • Are able to interact with strong stakeholders confidently – understand them and their needs as well as making them understand you.
  • Are able to work in an environment where the pre-conditions may change from one day to another and where we need to deliver these changes with short notice in order not to risk breaking laws and regulations.
  • Are interested in business and like to see how IT can enable people to achieve business results. You feel comfortable to explain technical information to people in a simple and easy-to understand way.

Experience in working with modern technology solutions for integrations, migrations, data management, native and hybrid
