Job Description

Requirement Engineering is looking for a Product Requirement Specialist addressing the Internet of Things (IoT) and Electrical Safety aspects of Connected Devices. 

As a Product Requirement Specialist you are responsible to identify and document correct, clear and receiver-oriented product requirements, creating pre-requisites for a safe and compliant range. You will influence relevant new and existing legislations, regulations and standards while you develop a network of stakeholders in external alliances and standardization organizations. You work closely to different product development and product engineering teams at IKEA of Sweden. Furthermore you work with requirements related to both new and complex product types as well as with improvements to the current range. 

Specifics for this position 
IoT continues to evolve and it’s important for IKEA to stay informed about international and regional risk and safety standards to secure that products are safe and complies too these regulatory requirements. To ensure that IKEA products, e.g. our Home Smart range, are possible to develop in compliance with these standards you will be responsible to ensure that electrical and IoT safety standards are known and easily understood by the IKEA product development teams. With your previous experience from this domain you are perceived as a natural speaking partner and an authority when it comes to interpretation of the derived product requirements from these standards and regulations. 

Qualifications

You have a good understanding of the safety aspects of connected devices. That have been working with these aspects from a standardization, software development or architectural point of view and have a good understanding of the ways that standards are being developed and maintained in different standardization organizations and by authorities. You have the ability to analyze, assess, interpret complex subjects and identify needed actions, while translating these complex issues into simple language. You have a drive to identify, understand and make these requirements available by educating the development organization on news and updates.  

You are open minded, communicative and have an interest in improving ways of working by applying lessons learnt from your daily work and to take a lead in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You have the capability and strong interest to build and to maintain this network of both internal and external contacts in the global standardization community. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
