We are currently building the next generation of the IKEA Home smart eco-system with our mobile application, cloud & backend services, and embedded systems. Right now, we are strengthening our teams with Cloud Software Engineers who are ready to take the IKEA Home smart products to the next level. As a Cloud Software Engineer you will focus on developing and enhancing our IKEA Home smart backend cloud services. You will be part of an agile team, that consists of 5 to 8 Software Engineers, continuously delivering high quality software code and also adapting existing.

Typical tasks in your role:

• Cross-team collaboration between app, cloud & backend, and embedded systems
• Bringing in third party open source tools as needed
• Contributing to setting up the organization and ways of working
• Prototyping new ideas, both individually and across teams (we love prototyping!)

We are looking for you who are a curious, driven and solution oriented team player. You are highly motivated and know how to build global, large scale, event-driven cloud native backend solutions on Amazon Web Services. Your skills in Node.JS  and Python are excellent. You have experience working with transfer protocol standards such as MQTT, data interchange formats (ex. JSON, YAML, XML), encryption protocols (ex. TLS/DTLS) and OAuth2 authorization framework. Apart from this, you know how to work with AWS services. Previous you´ve been working with systems built on using a micro service architecture.  You´ve a great interest in developing based on agile principles and you are energized of being part of a dynamic environment where the entrepreneurial spirit is high!
