IKEA Transport & Logistics Services organization is approximately 500 persons globally with purchase volume of 2.8 billion Euros, working in the category dimension of Land, Ocean and Logistics Services. We are responsible for plan, purchase, operate and follow up the service execution of transports and services. Securing the needed logistics services capacity at the right time, with the right quality, at the right cost and in a sustainable way; to continuously contribute to the goal of having 100% satisfied IKEA customers. Transport & Logistical Services has a new dimension with responsibility for end-to-end Flow Development based on 3 pillars: Optimization, Planning and Performance.
Within Transport and Logistic Services Area North Europe we plan, purchase, operate and control transport of finished products from production units located in our area to all IKEA stores and warehouses worldwide. Our geographic scope of operations covers the raw materials flows ending in and product flows starting in: Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Russia. We are 90 passionate co-workers, located in Moscow and Älmhult.
Job Description
We are now looking for a Business Developer to join our team in Älmhult.
In your assignment as a Business Developer, you will be responsible to find new external service providers based on long term business needs, develop and negotiate agreements to secure transport capacity with a positive service-, quality-, security-, sustainability- and cost-development, build long term plans with service provider within defined scope.
Your focus will also be to minimise the environmental impact and be on top of the technology development therein. You will be ultimately responsible for all business discussions with a number of carriers in your scope and to optimise the flows in your predefined market.
Your main focus will be to:
· Have overall responsibility for the business with a defined number of service providers and a defined business scope
· Secure performance in all aspects as per defined goals and KPIs by developing effective relationships internally and externally
· Continuously challenge and support service providers to constantly improve all aspects of their performance, capabilities and increase their overall competitiveness through new business opportunities, smart transport solutions, innovations
· Identify and act on commercial opportunities, create preconditions for service providers’ production cost-down and secure respective price impact.
· Establish and secure the fulfilment of the transport agreement/contract
· Increase the share of low emission transport modes and usage of alternative fuels
· Secure co-operation with your stakeholders to optimize results
· Take the role as IKEA ambassador when communicating with external parties.
Qualifications
It comes natural for you to act as an IKEA ambassador when communicating and interacting with service providers. You have the ability to build relations and to work with different stakeholders in a trustful way.
For you to be successful in the role we believe that you need:
· Experience from working with business development and deep knowledge and understanding of the transport industry. Experience from other parts of the supply chain are valuable as well.
· A University degree in Logistics, Economics or business administration or equivalent work experience.
· Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
· To be business minded, able to analyse the market, lead the business with holistic view, challenge cost structure and be comfortable negotiating with stake holders.
· Good knowledge of the Supply Chain
· To be able to take decisions, find synergies, optimise the network and spot business opportunities.
· To be able work in midterm perspective to deliver the goals, but also to conceptualise and build/deliver long term plans.
· To be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
