Job Description

As Product Design Leader, with a focus on Sustainability for Range & Product design, you will lead, develop and support the matrix and line organisation in sustainability and strategic initiatives for design related topics. You´ll be one of the key leaders to enable the range and product design matrix to deliver a sustainable product design, as well as be the spokesperson in sustainability related range and product design questions.

You will amongst others work with:

  • Develop methods, tools and ways of working to enable sustainability and circularity in all parts of the range- and product development.
  • Secure projects are started right from the beginning by utilizing our opportunities in our sustainability agenda.
  • Lead the implementation of the product design principles through range/product assessment and roadmaps towards set goal.

You will work in close cooperation with the Range and Product Development Matrix, HFB’s, Categories, Retail Markets, and Sustainability teams in an environment with many different stakeholders both within and outside of IKEA, in other words – your network will be considerable. You will inspire, challenge and coach stakeholders to promote the sustainability agenda. And of course – you will have a lot of fun!

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a great enabler and leader who knows how to make this happen. You know how to inspire and clarify in an enthusiastic way based on previous experience from leading and participating in transformation projects.  You are good at creating your own network and at working in teams . You make things happen by involving and engaging people. You have a proven record of making tangible actions becoming a reality out of great plans.

Preferably you have this competencies with you:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of IKEA business and way of working.
  • Passion and commitment to be part of developing the IKEA sustainability agenda. 

A University Degree in Product Design/Development or equivalent and around five years of experience of the product development at IKEA. Sustainability education and knowledge is seen as a merit.
