Within Supply Chain Development we see intralogistics solutions as a game-changing opportunity to perform effective and cost-efficient central and customer fulfilment activities throughout our supply chain.

Based on the current Warehousing Logistics (WLOG) Organisation and LOGEVO we want to further build a  strong Intralogistics organisation to establish, lead, support and develop logistics solutions for the various IKEA units that have a logistical and fulfilment component, including the development and innovation agenda of intralogistics at IKEA global. In practical terms, Intralogistics shall lead and educate in creating concepts, processes and solutions for IKEA Handling and Storage as well as to act as centre of expertise for all establishments of logistics units around the globe. The organisation is in strong lead towards a more mechanical and automated goods handling.

By leading the global Intralogistics organisation you secure competent and high performing leaders who inspire and empower co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments. As part of the Intralogistics team you contribute to the innovation agenda and fulfilment of Logistic Development tasks across IKEA Supply Chain. Moreover, you develop, implement and follow up action plan for the unit, delivering excellent results in supporting intralogistics projects and professional long term concept development for all IKEA franchisees.

This role will be a combination of the role as deputy intralogistics manager and business & product development manager. As deputy intralogistics manager/business & product development manager you will, among other tasks:

  • Be responsible for driving leadership and competence agenda: identify needs and gaps, and build leadership and competence plans to meet the short and long term business needs.
  • Responsible to secure the business, the development and maintenance of products.
  • Responsible to secure the movement from innovation projects to product development and secure the readiness of future technologies and solutions
  • Responsible for business and product development, building relationships with service requestors
  • Market Intralogistics services, solutions and capabilities.
  • Be accountable for the execution of the projects / tasks delivered by your department.
  • Represent Intralogistics in project steering groups
  • Responsible to ensure that products are developed according "design for total cost" to optimize the value chain
  • Be responsible for securing a concise information/communication flow from Business & Product development and Intralogistics and to the many stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of the Business & Product development action plan and contribute to the Intralogistics and SCD assignment across IKEA.

About you
As a person, you have a strong passion to guide the organisation into the future, having a strong drive in the field of logistics, digitalisation and automation. You have leadership skills to lead business and people in a global assignment. You have the drive to develop your team leaders, co-workers and yourself to deliver excellent results. You strive to obtain a good collaboration and interaction with a big number of various stakeholders in various IKEA units and externally with the Intralogistics suppliers and development partners. Moreover, you have a desire to find new ways and make them happen through engaging and motivating people. You go the extra mile and find new solutions to enable IKEAs journey to become a true Multichannel Retailer. Last but not least, you have a genuine interest for supply chain, as well as technological and IT development connected to intralogistics.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • Senior managerial and leadership experience, preferably gained in IKEA supply chain and based on the IKEA key values.
  • A passion for Intralogistics and a strong knowledge and understanding of the IKEA processes, organizations and supply chain.
  • Experience in intralogistics material flow systems, processes and related IT solutions.
  • The desire and capability to be a great communicator and by this build trust and relationships to handle multiple stakeholders in a global environment.
  • Experience in project management as well as in vendor and contract management.
  • Capability to perform business analysis, risk assessment, scenario planning and draw fast conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations.
  • Capability to represent IKEA towards external suppliers and to be an IKEA ambassador in everything you do.
  • A desire to do things differently and challenge current ways of working and the ability to move with speed and direction
  • Fluency in English
