Purchasing and Logistics Area North is part of IKEA Supply and is responsible for different business units across the IKEA value chain. The role of Purchasing and Logistics is to supply the IKEA range at the lowest total cost, making high quality available to the customer under good social and environmental conditions.

Purchasing & Logistics Area North Europe is currently looking for Business Development Manager, Layer Glued team to be based in Kaunas office. As a Business Development Manager at Purchasing & Logistics Area North Europe, you will be working within a defined part of the business and legal framework of IKEA to secure excellence in running operations by optimizing the purchasing possibilities. Furthermore, you will participate in creating an efficient supplier structure. 

Your assignment

Business Development Manager will together with a team:

• Overall responsible for the business and supplier performance
• Responsible for recruitment, development, retention and succession plans for co-workers directly in her/his team
• Responsible for driving the Leadership and Competence agenda: Identify needs and gaps, and build leadership and competence plans to meet the short and long term business needs
• Accountable for professional and long term relationship with suppliers through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency
• Identify and start-up new suppliers according to business needs through the business development team and/or by giving an assignment to New Business teams
• As part of the Category Management team, actively contribute to the development of the Category Business Plan
• Lead and/or contribute to projects on behalf of the overall Category or Category Area
• At any time, act as an IKEA ambassador.

You will be working in a truly international environment with a lot of contacts with colleagues and suppliers mostly in northern Europe. The position includes traveling.
