Job Description

We are looking for another playful entrepreneur who thrives on delivering low prices to the many people. 

As a BA Sourcing Specialist you will act as the bridge between the product development team and the Categories in the purchasing organisation. From that position you lead and secure total supply chain perspective for a range of products and make sure that both production and customer perspective is considered in the products. You are responsible to coordinate and execute sourcing activities in the product development process and ensure that product development is in line with suppliers’ production capabilities. Together with the Categories and our suppliers you will work to optimise our value chain so that we can develop and produce better products at lowest total cost for the many people.

Assignment

  • Responsible to secure supplier, supply chain and customer perspective through NEWs and Improves and projects
  • Responsible to lead material selection in the NEWs development process, through own competence and through involving relevant competences
  • Responsible to secure input and preconditions from the BA to the category, in order for the category to define optimal global sourcing set-up for NEWs and Improves
  • Responsible to conclude business case based on global optimal sourcing set-up from category and by calculating GM, GP and R52 in all channels.
  • Responsible to define the optimal logistics set.-up in NEWs and Impro0ves, considering both supplier and retail perspective
  • Responsible to secure phase-in and phase-out of articles as part of e.g. NEWs development projects
  • Based on assignment from Range & Product team, responsible to lead deviation handling for running range
  • Responsible to lead and secure the supply chain perspective of the pricing process
  • Contribute to IKEA offer, sourcing assignments and PDPs
  • Responsible to secure input within the BA functions as well as specialist input from the categories (gearbox)
     

Qualifications

We believe that you have a solid purchasing background with a proven track record and a good knowledge of the global market and supply chain management. As a base you have a university degree in Technology, Business Administration or corresponding knowledge. Since you will take tactical as well as strategic decisions to steer the operations, a good knowledge of material, product cost and production is needed. Good negotiation and problem solving skills is also crucial.

You have leadership skills and it is an advantage if you have experience from working as Project Leader for various projects. As a person you are highly motivated, decisive, analytical and have a strong drive to find new business opportunities. You have the ability to build trust and partnership to reach common goals and act based on high moral and ethical principles.
 
You will be based in Älmhult, in an inspiring environment, based on creativity and innovation, which gives you the opportunity to work and interact with people from all around the world. The assignment includes some traveling, primarily internationally, and you need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
