About the job
As a part of Category management team you will actively contribute to the development of the long term Category Business Plan. In your role as Business development Manager you are accountable for developing and implementing the Action plan in line with Category Business plan with objectives of delivering excellent results in running operations and professional long term business development with suppliers.
A very important part of your assignment will be to lead, inspire and empower the co –workers in your team to perform to the best to deliver excellent results and continuously develop and grow in their assignment.
As Business Development Manager your main assignments will be:
- Overall responsible for the business and suppliers performance
- Accountable for establishing and developing high performing supplier base by keeping long term relations with suppliers, opening new ones according to business needs
- You will lead and/or contribute to projects on behalf of the overall category or category area, contribute to identify and act on cross-regional synergies & opportunities
- You will secure planning and execution to fulfil the sourcing assignment and pro-actively work together with Home Furnishing Businesses (Internal stakeholders) to integrate opportunities and act on deviations
- Secure compliance to IKEA Purchasing manual and other agreed working methods
- Responsible for the Leadership and Competence agenda for the business team; recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers directly in your team to meet short and long term business needs
- Establishing and managing cost budget for the team. Continuously use resources in an optimal way to secure business goals ensuring organizational efficiency

You have an experience of working with suppliers located in different countries and proven experience of leading projects.
You come with good track record in current & previous positions, in leading and developing both business and people, you lead by example and have the ability to bring out the best in your team and the people and organisations you encounter.
