Purchasing Development is a business unit within IKEA Supply, with a global organisation consisting of 9 Category Areas (for Home Furnishing, Food and Indirect Materials & Services), Wood Supply & Forestry, Business Development Project Office and a number of Business Partners.

Category Area Comfort is one of the category areas in Purchasing Development. In Category Area Comfort we want to develop and produce the best comfort for our customers that enables good form and function, together with our 150 Home Furnishing and Component suppliers. We always look for the best materials, logistics solutions and production methods that makes the IKEA sofas, work chairs, mattresses, quilts and pillows etc. truly affordable to the many people. We want good comfort to be available for the many people! We want to build this on a sustainable comfort supply chain that enables IKEA to be the trusted leader in life at home.

Job Description

We are now looking for a new People & Culture Leader to join our exciting journey in Category Area Comfort!

Category Area Comfort consists of four Categories; Upholstery frames (upholstered sofas, armchairs and footstools), Mattresses, Filled Products (cushions, pads, quilts and pillows) and Work Chairs. We are 180 co-workers sitting in 11 different locations. Together we want to utilise synergies to optimise and improve our supply chains and ways of working, with a can do attitude and IKEA values.

As People & Culture Leader you will be responsible for bringing people and business together to create that little extra magic. You are a member of the Management team and report to the Category Area Manager. You work in a global environment and are speaking partner to all our leaders placed in our different locations, mainly Sweden, Poland and China. You will actively contribute to the growth by leading teams and by working together with all businesses, matrices and support functions. We believe that you will: 

Develop and take the lead in the people journey that IKEA is on to, together with leaders and co-workers. The base of this journey are IKEA culture and values strengthened by that special can-do spirit!

  • Lead the People agenda and ensure that the People plan is ingrained as the everyday business and secure excellence in operation
  • Act as strategic partner to CA Manager and the Category Area management team within all people related topics
  • Work with leaders to contribute to performance, with focus on leadership and by securing the HR processes
  • Support the organisation in the translation of identified business needs in to concrete competence needs and actions
  • Focus on creating an environment and a spirit where we empower people, nourish creative and curious minds, learn from our mistakes and always strive to find the best solutions with cost consciousness in focus
  • Contribute to the Global HR agenda, engage and take lead of different initiatives with impact on the overall organisation

The position is in Älmhult, Sweden, but you will be expected to travel from time to time to meet and build relations with our different business teams.

  • Experience of HR or Competence Management tasks, preferably 3,5 years as an HR manager or HR Business Partner, as well as working with complex problem analysis and solutions in large organisations
  • Documented experience to work on a strategic business agenda: adding value to business strategies and having experience from leading global People & Culture assignments
  • Ability to identify need for and drive change within the organisation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trustful relations
