The PR & Communication team is a part of the Marketing & Communication team at IKEA Food. As a communication specialist in the PR & Communication team at IKEA food you will join a dedicated team of internal and corporate communication specialists. Your main responsibility will be to work with PR & media relations, identifying stories and angles, develop content and share communication around how IKEA Food develops and supplies its products and range. You will support the business and all IKEA markets with proactive and reactive content, incoming requests and advice when IKEA is being challenged and you will support in stakeholder management with key external stakeholders such as NGOs.

Job Description

As a communication specialist you are responsible for leading planned and unplanned PR strategies. You shall identify and run long term, proactive PR & corporate communication opportunities and support the long term Marketing and Communication plan as well as cater for the best possible support for the unplanned requests.

Your tasks include to identify and run PR & corporate communication initiatives, plan including KPIs and follow up and communicate to affected internal stakeholders. You are also expected to have knowledge of media monitoring and that you will take an active part and contribute in the general risk process at IKEA Food. You will take lead in situations where IKEA Food is challenged and secure trained spokespersons according to the IKEA principles in relevant areas.

In your role you will develop communication material for both PR as well as for presentations for external audience where you will do background research for valid facts and arguments.

You will support the IKEA retail markets with advices and communication material, securing that IKEA Food is presented in a proactive and positive way as well as support the markets with communication expertise in issues and crisis handling.

This is a temporary role for one year.

Qualifications

You should have experience from working with strategic PR & Communication and therefore a good understanding of how communication can support and enable the business.

You should have an understanding of how communication affects stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand and have an excellent capability to judge messaging for external communication.

You should have an experience in working with risk assessment and creating strategies for prevention of risk situations as well as handling risks and reactive unplanned communication.

It is important that you have the ability to bring out the essence of complex information and turn that into a compelling presentation or story.

You are good at taking initiatives and to get things done, prioritizing the tasks at hand.

You are self-motivated, with a strong drive and a problem-solving approach. You have experience in leading communication projects and enjoy working in a team.

We like to see that you are flexible, supportive and open-minded to people and business.

Experience in working with PR & Communication in an international context is qualifying.

You will be located at the IKEA Food offices in Malmö but you will be working closely with the IKEA of Sweden Press office in Älmhult.

You are fluent in English and you have an excellent ability to communicate verbally and write in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice.

It is important that you understand and appreciate the IKEA culture and values and can handle both proactive initiatives and critical issues in an open and trustworthy way.
