Are you a curious and passionate Business and People leader? We are now looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to lead the purchasing of the products and components within Open&Close Category.

To be successful in the role as Business Development Manager, a proven track record in leading business and people is key to deliver long term sustainable results. A commercial background with extensive experience within purchasing/sourcing is a must. Experience within metal, plastic or furniture fittings is a benefit.

The position will report to the Category manager of Open&Close André Kraby. Location for the role is within Purchase and Logistics Operations Area East Asia in Shenzhen.

ABOUT THE JOB

As part of the Category Management team and reporting to the Category Manager, you will actively contribute to the development of the long term Category Business Plan. In your role as Business Development Manager you are accountable for developing and implementing the Action plan in line with the overall sourcing strategy of the Open&Close Category. The objectives is to deliver excellent results in purchasing by leading purchasing teams and establish professional long term business development with our suppliers.

A very important part of your assignment will be to inspire and empower the co-workers in your team to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.

As Business Development Manager your main assignments will be:

  • Through IKEA way of doing business, be responsible to secure right pre-conditions and lead to achieve professional long term business development and excellent results for the category.Accountable for professional and long term relationship with suppliers through IKEA way of doing business, based on a shared business model, trust and transparency
  • At any time, act as an ambassador of IKEA values and a Role Model for Fact-based Business Leadership

  • Responsible for the Leadership and Competence agenda for the business team; recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers directly in your team to meet short and long term business needs

  • Establishing and managing cost budget for the team. Continuously use resources in an optimal way to secure business goals ensuring organisational efficiency
