About you

You have the ability to organize and work independently along with the ability to work with and through others to lead and coach them.  Additionally, you:

  • Are honest with high integrity.
  • Are analytical, methodical, and well structured.
  • Have good time management and respect deadlines.
  • Some travel required (50%).
  • Bachelor degree required Masters preferred Forestry or related field
  • Skills related to wood processing industry will be seen as an advantage
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbal

About the job

Being the Forestry and Wood Supply Specialist means you will work within a defined part of the business and legal framework of IKEA.  You will support and secure purchasing teams to have relevant knowledge to drive Forestry and Wood Supply issues, and support suppliers to improve the Forestry performance.

About the assignment

The Forestry and Wood Supply Specialist will be responsible for multiple tasks.  These include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in yearly planning processes and support purchasing teams in the development of their action plans to meet the Forestry goals and priorities.
  • Be a specialist within Forestry, FSC, and Wood supply areas.
  • Collect, analyze, and make available for business teams and suppliers information about forest resources, forest legislation, etc.
  • Represent the forest and timber issues in internal and external strategic forums.
