Job Description
Right now we are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who wants to be a vital enabler navigating IKEA into the future by being a strong financial and business navigation partner based in the Range part of our organisation. Someone who wants to lead challenging business driven assignments and apply their business minded approach to a dynamic, changing environment. A leader who dares to be different and develop innovative solutions when meeting strategic challenges. A leader who can simplify in a complex environment, is opportunity driven and can identify and mitigate risks, can collaborate and lead across functions and organizations and can lead process improvements to improve efficiency and effectiveness across Range and Supply.
About the assignment
In this role you will be responsible for the overall business performance management for the Range part of IKEA Range & Supply. This entails business steering and navigation, finance, governance & legal, risk & compliance and business support operations. And this includes the legal entity of IKEA of Sweden and its subsidiaries as well as matrix responsibility for IKEA Älmhult AB and its subsidiaries. You will be managing the business and financial performance in accordance with the IKEA Direction and strategies, the Inter IKEA Group financial frames and the applicable Range assignments.
As CFO you will lead the functional teams for Business Steering, Finance & Administration, Governance & Legal and Risk & Compliance and you will report to the IKEA Range & Supply manager. You will be part of IKEA Range & Supply’s management team and Chair for IKEA Range & Supply Risk Council. You will represent the Range Business in the Inter IKEA Group Finance Committee, securing decisions taken are taken into the business and participate in IKEA company boards.
You will have an overall view of Inter IKEA Group Strategies and activities and will be expected to build and maintain clear governance set-up for the Range business. Setting clear decisions making structures, roles and responsibilities in place and making sure they are supported with decision forums. Furthermore you will be responsible for:
- Securing compliance with the applicable external and internal rules and regulations
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with relevant authorities
- Establishing processes and control framework securing risk mitigation
- Secure competence development and succession within the areas of responsibility
Qualifications
You have always had a strong genuine interest in life at home and home furnishing and would really like to make an impact in people’s life at home through your line of expertise. You are an explorer at heart, always curious and eager to learn more about new for example digital solutions and technologies and how they can be integrated and have an impact on business development and growth. We believe you have a passion for business as well as a curiosity to explore the future of business development. You have experience from developing and formulating strategies and plans answering to forwards-thinking, up-to-date wished position in an every changing business environment. You have experience of leading corporations through and in a transformational change.
In order to be successful in this role you need to have more than 10 years of experience of financial and performance management in large international groups of companies and preferably with experience from operating in a global franchise system. In depth knowledge of business development through finance and risk management, operations, internal controls and relevant laws & regulations. We also believe you have an educational background in Business, Finance, Economics or related fields on at least a Master Degree level.
You are known for being a people oriented leader who see the potential in each individual and are able to bring out the best in everyone even in an international and culturally diverse work environment. You have experience of leading senior leaders and co-workers, who you coach and mentor to develop their assignments and optimize performance. With an ability to listen, inspire and engage on all levels, always building trustful relationships with stakeholders, business partners and franchisees. You are a strong communicator and have the ability to simplify complexity in order to improve business performance. You are a true networker, who builds strong and trustworthy relationships and feel confident in managing and leading cross-functional teams effectively.
