Please note this position is based in Älmhult, Sweden, temporary contract with 11 months.

Älmhult, Sweden is home to IKEA Communications AB, also known as ICOM. IKEA Communications produces content for IKEA.com, which is visited around 2.3 billion times a year. We're also behind the IKEA catalogue with a yearly circulation of around 230 million copies. On top of that, we churn out a ton of content for social media, not to mention motion media and 3D work so cutting edge that it makes the folks in California sit up and take notice. So what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.

As a Communication Specialist you will support the business with strategic communication, lead our PR & media agenda in close cooperation with the Range & Supply Press Office. You will also lead internal communications assignments within IKEA Communications in order to create co-worker engagement through easily understandable and accessible information.

You will operate in a dynamic environment, bridging between the overall IKEA strategy and hands-on operational execution.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to strengthening the IKEA Communications brand by being part of the public dialogue and sharing how IKEA Communications contributes to the long-term positive development of IKEA, by creating and sharing content about IKEA Communications, business, innovation and people.
  • Work closely together with HR and leaders in change management to secure a structured and planned communication process to make co-workers feel involved and engaged. Be responsible for leading and implementing business priorities in IKEA Communications and across IKEA.
  • Manage and create content for our internal communications channels.
  • Define, plan, execute and follow up effective and strategic communication to ensure engagement.
  • Coach and advise leaders to plan and deliver effective and transparent communications as well as strengthen their leadership through communications.
  • Secure creation of presentations and communications material and contribute to developing our communications processes and channels.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we believe you have:

  • 3+ years working experience of corporate communications, internal communications or equivalent.
  • Experience from working with strategic communication and change management.
  • Solid knowledge in stakeholder management.
  • Previous work experience of PR & media and crisis communication is beneficial.
  • A willingness to work both on a strategic and operational level.
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills; fluent in English.
