Job Description

We are now looking for an additional Archivist for IKEA Museum
The IKEA Museum is a young and developing organisation. This means that all co-workers have the opportunity to find new ways of working and make a difference.

The purpose of this job is to collect IKEA historical and contemporary documentation, to secure it and to make it both accessible and searchable.

History is made in the present. You keep yourself updated with what is going on today within the development of the IKEA Concept and business. You collect contemporary documentation about this and pick out what we should save for future use and work out why and how we should save it. If the documentation is only produced digitally, you are able to save this so that it can be secured for future use. You sort and organise the documentation in such a way that each individual item is accessible and searchable. The job also includes providing IKEA units with historical information upon request.

The job is done in co-operation with team members and other colleagues. As an archivist you secure that we have updated and known rules and guidelines for how to work with and handle our historical documents. You work with risk analysis and proactive missions to safeguard the historical documents for future generations. The job also involves taking leadership for different activities within the field of documenting our history and giving assignments to others to document our history.

Qualifications

·        You are passionate about the IKEA vision “to create a better everyday life for the many people” and dedicated to the IKEA Concept and business idea.
·        You enjoy the IKEA culture, live by IKEA values and build trustful relations with people.

·        You are inspired by working together with others and find inspiration in delivering to others.
·        You have a true passion for how we can learn from our history.
·        You are a structured person who knows how to structure and organize historical documents. It is a great advantage if you have work experience from a corporate archive and relevant education.

·        You have great communication skills and can express complex issues in understandable and clear ways with a holistic approach.
·        You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
