Job Description

IKEA Industry has during several years ran a program to accelerate implementation of the lean production concept IPS (IKEA Production System). The program is rolled out across the
Divisions, by external IKEA suppliers and lately also at IKEA retail where best practices in performance management, operations and way of working will be implemented on the shop floor as well as in the rest of the organization.

The program is driven by a group of change agents in collaboration with management team, shop floor personnel and support functions. We look for a Lean/IPS Navigator to our corporate IPS team .

The job

Your responsibility will be  to lead and drive transformation processes in a factory from “top to bottom”. You will lead demanding projects on our sites across the network and help designing and implementing future operations in IKEA Industry factories, at external IKEA suppliers as well as at IKEA retail.  After a 6-12 months period you will be the expert in our transformation concept and drives our transformations aiming at implementing the best practices principles and improving performance in our factories, at external IKEA suppliers or at IKEA retail. This involves:

  • To drive shop-floor transformation

  • To train operators & managers in transformation approach, tools and standards

  • To implement necessary support structures to ensure sustainability e.g. performance management and organization.

  • To coach and challenge senior operational managers through a demanding change process

  • To facilitate focused improvement workshops and in general contribute to the IPS concept

The position is global and will be based in one of our unit in Hungary, Poland or Slovakia and will require lots of traveling. You will be reporting to the Regional Lean Manager for South and Central  Europe.

Qualifications

To apply, you should have several years of experience with lean projects and/or leadership positions within a factory e.g. production or factory manager alternatively project manager with strong interest in operations. You have an educational base at B.Sc level or equivalent.  As individual you have good
leadership skills. You are a good communicator, have a high drive, perseverance and analytical skills. You have interest and drive for future career development. A good command of English is of course important. Other languages in spoken and written is qualifying.
