About the job

Being the Production Engineer, you will lead the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction.  You are the main contact towards the suppliers and work as part of the business team together with the supplier to develop and secure the production process, handling of quality deviations, and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.

About the assignment

The Production Engineer is responsible for Quality Assurance including to secure process control for key processes in production.  Among other things, you:

  • Perform Product audits and production risk assessments at suppliers

  • Develops the recipe with suppliers to match desired taste profile quality and nutrition.

  • Lead the Supplier Development for quality and manufacturing with responsibility to identify and implement actions and execution of SDP projects.

  • Lead industrialization of minor news development and contribute with competence to other news developments.

  • Evaluate potential new supplier’s production facilities and quality systems, understands holistic picture across the globe

  • Have the interest and drive to build trust and partnership to reach common goals.

  • Have a university degree followed by 4-10 year industry experience

  • Are result oriented, high energy, and self-driven ways of working to deliver better products for the many people by working together in IKEA and with suppliers.

  • Have knowledge HACCP, HARPC and possibility to assess GFSI or BRC fulfillment

  • Some travel required (30-50%).

  • Ability to learn  IKEA requirements, standards, and test methods and contribute with your industry experience

Good knowledge of IKEA requirements, standards, and test methods

Qualifications

Required:

  • HACCP and HARPC analyses and practical implementation
  • Understand FDA, USDA requirements
  • Lean Manufacturing methods and tools (FMEA, RCA, fish bone, 5 why etc).
  • Experience with New Product development, Sensory and laboratory testing
  • Leads new product implementation in production
  • Able to assess manufacturing process and packaging line efficiencies.
  • Share and live IKEA values
  • Ability to communicate and influence on factory floor as well as with senior management
  • Ability to communicate, enjoy and contribute to IKEA international business & team spirit

Preferred:

  • Experience of industrial production conditions and Lean manufacturing
  • Experience coming from Produce, Fruit & Vegetables frozen processing ,Quality Management
  • Ability to lead and communicate in virtual environment
  • Knowledge about Total Quality Management - University degree in Engineering or corresponding
  • Experience to work in production with a process oriented environment
  • Previous experience as Process or Production Engineer in manufacturing
  • Good knowledge about continuous improvements
  • Project Management skill
