Project Leader - IKEA Product Information Management (IPIM) Programme - Co-creating New Ways of Working

The range is our identity and the product information is an essential part of the IKEA Concept. New technology is changing behaviour and the demands for new ways to interact and share real-time insights are essential for continuous growth. The goal of the IPIM Programme is to create a foundation that enables a digital ecosystem with the IKEA range at its heart. It means exploring and designing how data – about and around our products – is created and captured, how it is distributed and made available. It is also about how co-workers, suppliers, customers and third parties can interact with it in all aspects. IPIM is a programme that covers the whole IKEA value chain and all IKEA retailers.

We are looking for a  Project leader to lead the development of new Ways of Working across IKEA connected to IPIM, who has a background in lean operations and continuous improvement, and wants to lead and be part of Digital and Business Transformation projects within the IKEA Product Information Management (IPIM) Programme.

Job Description

As a Project leader Co-creating new Ways of Working you will embark on an exciting journey in the digital transformation of IKEA. On this journey we will explore how we can change the way product information is created, distributed and used today. We will develop new capabilities and design the digital ecosystem that we all will be part of. And we will connect the data dots to create personalized, exciting and efficient experiences for our customers and co-workers Our aim with IPIM is to strengthen collaboration around product information throughout the entire IKEA value chain to make it possible for more people to base discussions and decisions on real-time data, collaborate seamlessly and build on each other. This will influence our new Ways of working.

You will facilitate and support how we co-create new ways of working across the IKEA value chain. The basis for developing new ways of working is the IPIM vision and our wished position for IPIM capabilities. The capability areas for which we will develop new ways of working include Product Core data, Product Design and Engineering, Range management, Customer-facing communication and Product Insights. You´ll work in close connection and interact with many stakeholders across IKEA – building a strong network and securing transparency around IPIM, but also strong involvement of relevant stakeholders in all we do, together with functional managers. You will be part of the Portfolio team and report to the IPIM Portfolio manager, Jirko Hoogerwerf.

The responsibilities in your role include:
•    Lead the further development of the IPIM capability model, as a way to capture business requirements for new ways of working (and the other aspects of capabilities) around product information. You do it together with IPIM functional and platform team members.
•    Develop an approach for how, together with the IPIM teams and stakeholders across IKEA, develop new ways of working.
•    Coach teams in their projects to deliver new ways of working in a consistent way, which are supported by the new IPIM platforms. 
•    Organize Ways of Working meetings with business, process and matrix owners to sign-off new ways of working.
•    Promote mind set and culture of continuous improvement in ways of working with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you need to have an interest in home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home, and be excited by our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people. 

We are looking for the following basic qualifications:
•    You have at least 5 years of experience working in consumer (durable) goods, and a solid understanding of ways of working, processes and connected roles
•    You have an interest in how digital solutions can create preconditions for more effective and efficient ways of working 
•    You lead yourself and are strong in inspire and influencing others have the ability to lead and influence
•    You are a problem solver, not only once, but scalable in a structured way
•    You enjoy working in an iterative way, in an environment that is not yet fully set
•    You have excellent communication and networking skills
•    You lead and act as a role model with the IKEA Culture and values always in mind in your daily work

On top of that, it would be great if you meet one or more of the following preferred qualifications:
•    You held several roles in different parts of the IKEA value chain
•    You have experience with improvement methodologies, e.g. lean, six sigma, business process re-engineering or similar

The position is permanent and located in Älmhult, Sweden, but requires regular travel to the office in Malmö. Älmhult has good commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day. Travelling based on business needs will be necessary.
