As Health & Sustainability Manager you will lead the development and delivery of IKEA Food ambitious plans for the future. Building on the foundation currently in place, you will lead the delivery of strategies, tactics and activities needed within IKEA Food to contribute to the ambitions of the Health & Sustainability Direction of IKEA. Furthermore you will ensure health and sustainability are integrated and contributing to the business objectives and performance of IKEA Food, executed and followed through. Establish new and nurture existing partnerships with external stakeholders and cross-sector relationships is an important part of the assignment as well as raising the profile of IKEA Food’s work through external platforms and media.

The Health & Sustainability Manager is a leadership position in IKEA’s food business, represented on the management team and reporting to the Managing Director.

Possessing strong strategic and analytical abilities, you have knowledge and experience in identifying, capturing and driving business opportunities to create results. An inspiring and clear communicator, experienced with internal audiences and external forums. A relationship builder who’s comfortable leading and influencing across organizations and processes, as most of your responsibilities will have interdependencies with other organizations inside and outside IKEA and IKEA Food. You come with excellent track record in a management-level position and as a proven leader with strong leadership skills. You lead by example, have the natural ability to listen and create a team dynamic that bring out the best in your team. You identify very much with our values and enjoy creating an environment where the IKEA values are a strong and living reality. Fluent in written and spoken English.

You have a university degree in, for e.g., sustainability/CSR, environmental science/engineering, business, economics or equivalent, with advanced sustainability knowledge and a thorough understanding of how it can support the business agenda. You have extensive experience (8+ years) in a complex international environment within the food industry/business. Education or equivalent experience in health and nutrition would be a clear advantage as is experience or knowledge in food packaging from a sustainability perspective.

Your Assignment
- Develop and drive the long term sustainability & health strategy for IKEA Food
- Be the spokesperson on health and sustainability topics as well as supporting management and other spokespeople with relevant sustainability facts and messages
- Secure a sustainable way of working and thinking throughout the value chain in close cooperation with sustainability functions in other parts of IKEA and IKEA Food
- Identify business opportunities as well as evaluate current and future trends and initiatives
- Lead and develop your core team of experts in agriculture, animal welfare, nutrition, social impacts & human rights
- Ensure that the sustainability & health basics are in place, set goals and KPIs and ensure continuous improvement in these areas
- Define, encourage, train and coach the right level of competence in sustainability & health
- Ensure co-ordinated and timely external messaging and reporting working in close partnership with the Communications Team
- Overall responsible for sustainability projects to assure solid business cases, right prioritizations and overview
