Retail Operation Solution & Support is a department within IKEA Expansion, Core Business Franchise, with the assignment to maintain and deliver the IIS Retail Package to IKEA retailers.

About the assignment

In this assignment you will:

·         Lead, inspire and empower the Sales & Range team within Retail Operation Solutions & Support (ROSS) securing competent and high performing co-workers and being responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, retention and succession plans for co-workers in the team.

·         Responsible for the continuous improvements, development and implementation, in the areas of Sales & Range in all channels including Services, B2B and Retail Web.

·         As a member of the ROSS Management team contribute to the overall result created within ROSS and support IKEA Expansion and CBF in various assignments.

·         Be accountable for Sales & Range related initiatives within the ROSS total action plan

·         Act as a matrix person to all Sales Managers among the Retailers operating the IIS Retail Package.

·         Lead and work closely together with peers across the totality of Core Business Franchise and across IKEA to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant IKEA franchise offer.

·         Secure that IKEAs expansion in existing and new markets, formats and channels is supported by the Sales & Range specialists required

·         Arrange and host international events

About the job

ROSS (Retail Operation Solution & Support) is the organisation that maintains and delivers the IIS Retail Package and there are currently 10 retailers operating 24 markets with 50 IKEA stores and 17 E-commerce operations using our package. The total turnover of these markets is around 4 Billion EUR. There are committed plans to open IKEA in 8 new countries the coming 5 years as well as a number of new meeting places in existing countries. Supporting the existing retailers operation as well as future additional expansion of these markets is a large part of what ROSS do.

All retailers are selling the same IKEA range and most trends in customer behaviour are common across markets and continents. This gives us a unique possibility to identify and share best practice as well as constantly improving our offer.

We are working with many different retailers, having different business strategies and objectives. Several retailers are conglomerates with interest in both IKEA and other brands simultaneously, creating a very interesting situation where deep understanding of each retailer is required.

The ROSS organisation contains highly motivated self-driven co-workers with an interest and competence in the crossroad of people, tools and processes. We work very close together with our retailers and get energy from delivering business value at lowest possible cost.

The role is expected to represent both Inter IKEA Systems and retailer’s interests, and shall operate according to the IKEA concept, defined strategies and best practice.

Our efforts ultimately aim to support the expansion and business development of the retailers using our retail package and to help them maximise their potential in each market.

About you

We are looking for a hands on and result oriented person, with experience from the Sales & Range area in IKEA retail. In our work we are moving between strategic and operational questions which require a deep interest and knowledge in how things are actually done.

To succeed in this position you will need to have:

·         IKEA retail experience and a personal network of people working within different IKEA units

·         A personality driven by achieving long-term sustainable business result

·         Leadership skills to create clear targets and to anchor it with all relevant stakeholders

·         Ability to drive change and sustainable improvements in a multi-cultural environment

·         Social skills where you are able to interact with strong stakeholders confidently – understand them and their needs as well as making them understand you

·         Deep knowledge and interest in retail trends and customer behaviours

·         Self-managed personality where you with a strong drive, business focus and personal integrity will enable change in the all retail markets

·         You are able to work in an environment where the pre-conditions may change from one day to another

·         Good level of English (verbally and in writing)

·         Ability to travel 50-70 days per year in average
