Job Description

About the role

IKEA Retail Experience has the assignment to secure a successful, consistent, and relevant IKEA experience across all customer meeting points that are developed together with Core Business Range & Supply and all IKEA franchisees in order to create a common and unique IKEA way to engage our customers and offer them relevant services. It is an exciting time as IKEA transforms from a single channel to multichannel retailer.

Within IKEA Retail Experience, the Development & Franchise Offer area works with the common development and Franchise Offer processes, methodologies and follow-up of the customer meeting. We provide project, innovation, process and portfolio resources, and work closely with the business to enable the development of a successful, consistent, and relevant IKEA customer meeting.

In these exiting times, we are now looking for a candidate who wants to be a major contributor in defining how emerging digital technologies can be applied to our development and innovation portfolio to create long term growth.

The ideal candidate will have:

Extensive and recent IKEA Retail experience within the field of digital technology/IT

Solid development experience from external companies/ start-ups or technology community

Experience from technology driven transformation and innovation in larger global companies

Proven track record of interdependent leadership- leading projects across organisations in a collaborative way and delivering results through others

As a Technology Infrastructure Leader, you will:

Support the business in using digital technologies to drive innovation, enhancing the customer experience to find new sources of advantage

Provide expert knowledge on how existing systems and applications can function with new solutions in the total digital ecosystem

Provide feasibility analyses /assessment of development projects with complex IT components ensuring successful deployment

Support the move from a traditional mode of operation to a technology oriented way of doing business

Be a trusted advisor to business stakeholders in understanding technology opportunities and risks in relation to business objectives

Engage in strategic discussions around potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships providing expertise on technology prerequisites, opportunities, and risks

Stay up to date with emerging technology trends and movements that may impact IKEA, the competitive landscape and our customer’s  behaviours and expectations.

Continuously apply relevant findings to development/innovation stakeholders

Be part of/ build industry networks within and outside IKEA

In this role, you report directly to the Development Support Manager. That said, it’s critical to work cross-functionally with other colleagues, stakeholders in CBF and other organisations, and to collaborate closely with business leaders across IKEA. As we are in the process of changing the way we are organised in CBF, additional responsibilities may arise.

About you

You are passionate and curious about the assignment of Core Business Franchise and motivated by the role technologies and IT landscapes (legacy and new) can play in creating a new and successful meeting with existing and new IKEA customers. You’re a down-to-earth team player who is eager to take initiatives and achieve results with people. We also believe that you have a combination of the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:

In-depth knowledge of the existing and evolving IT landscapes of the IKEA franchisees

Knowledge of the IKEA Range Strategy, the IKEA Concept, the IKEA vision and business idea, IKEA culture & values, the IKEA business model and how we create unique business advantages

In-depth knowledge of the IKEA Digital directions, strategies and roadmaps

Good understanding of how to build partner ecosystems and digital technology enablers

Strong verbal and written English language skills

Solid understanding of how digital customer needs and expectations and ability to apply this knowledge to the business

Good understanding of how global trends and developments can impact IKEA, with a special focus on Digital Technology

Visionary leadership with the ability to make complex subjects understood and actionable

Strong strategic and analytical skills.

Capability to navigate and lead in a complex, unknown and fast-changing environment

Capability to collaborate and work in processes, engaging different IKEA competences in the network

Capability to build engage trustful and sustainable relationships with stakeholders, business partners and franchisees

Able to define required commercial/ technology enablers required to deliver new company value and secure long term competitive advantage

Motivated in delivering business results and targets

Passionate about the IKEA vision and IKEA Direction

Passionate about Digital Technology and the value it can bring to IKEA and our customers

It is a full time position (40h/week). The position is currently located in Helsingborg but the position will be moved to Malmö latest by 1 January 2020. Travel will be required.
