Right now we're looking for a Copywriting Competence Manager, to take lead in the development of IKEA Copywriter Competence Centre.

The role is an opportunity 

IKEA has assigned to IKEA Communications to explore how to strengthen our in-house Copywriting competence and enable early integration of copywriting into the product development process. It is an assignment to contribute to global communication to reach the many people.

We are setting up a Copywriter Competence Centre within IKEA and this is the opportunity to lead and develop copywriter competence to deliver communication, connecting to more of the many people, in their everyday life.

The assignment is to lead a team of 15 talented Copywriters and continuously grow a vast international freelancer network. In the role you acquire the right copywriting resources for any need, thus securing a deep and intuitive understanding of the IKEA Brand, IKEA values, IKEA tone-of-voice and the IKEA Direction and Strategies in communication from IKEA.

In the role you will:

  • Lead, develop and motivate our excellent team of Copywriters.
  • Spot, recruit and grow talent to ensure succession and consistent delivery of world-class copywriting.
  • Ensure that all resources are allocated in the best way to secure efficiency, and learning in the business as an everyday culture in the team.
  • Secure that the performance and continuous development always connect and delivers to the IKEA Strategy, IKEA Direction, IKEA Brand Identity and Tone of Voice.
  • Develop an up-to-date international network of excellent copywriters within concepts, editorial & marketing copy, creative & strategic, social media, SEO, snappy headlines and everything in between.
  • Be responsible for communication and collaboration with other departments, as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously challenge and develop lean processes, production methods, tools and driving innovation.
  • Set clear goals for the competence area and follow up on performance and budget.
  • Take part in developing the IKEA Communications Business Plan.
  • Collaborate and work closely with other Competence Area and Business Area Managers.
  • Demonstrate leadership by example in ways that express the IKEA values within and outside IKEA operations.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we think you have: 

  • Experience in managing, leading and developing a team of creative people.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to create confidence and build relations to co-workers, colleagues.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience.
  • A strong drive and ability to connect the dots between people’s everyday reality, digital developments and future trends, and transfer it to the development of competence and delivery in the business.
  • Strong strategic communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
