The role of Transport Area Central Europe is to plan, purchase, operate and control transport of finished products from production units located in our area to all IKEA stores and warehouses worldwide. We are also responsible to purchase transport services for raw material flow to IKEA Industry factories located in our area. We do it in order to fulfil the transport performance demands by providing the transportation means in a cost efficient and operationally excellent way securing our sustainability standards among service providers. Our geographic scope of operations covers: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Serbia and Moldavia.

Job Description

YOUR main tasks:

  • Book, reschedule, monitor & cancel shipments

  • Review/update extra costs in shipments

  • Select optimal transport solutions

  • Work in close cooperation with other relevant stakeholders in our Supply Chain to solve operational issues & optimise the transport booking process

  • Investigate claims with regard to extra costs & resolve claim issues

Qualifications

YOU are our candidate if you:

  • Have education or valid experience in transport/logistics or related area

  • Have the ability to work with a computer from a user perspective

  • Are fluent in German & English, both in writing & speaking

  • Are service & goal oriented, open minded & able to implement and follow-up

  • Have very good communication skills

  • Are able to solve problems under stress

  • Have the ability to find new solutions and to optimise the existing ones

  • Are able to see IKEA as a whole and keep the focus on the IKEA customer

  • Are a team player
