We are looking for a Product Requirement Engineer to join us on our exciting journey.

Job Description

Home Furnishing Business Workspace is looking for a Product Requirement Engineer to support the development process for different IKEA workspace products use combined with advanced mechatronic solutions. 

About the role

As a Product Requirement Engineer, in the product development process, you will be responsible to identify and create product requirements and to choose verification methods for the product areas under your responsibility. You will also initiate additional development tests for product validation which will contribute to better and safer products with higher customer satisfaction.

About the assignment

As Product Requirement Engineer for Business area Livingroom and Workspace you will work closely to a product development team. Being the requirement specialist, you set and document the relevant product requirements, you also have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization and suppliers to secure successful implementation. You need good insight into IKEA specifications and test methods and keep updated on changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with new product developments as well as with improvements to the running range.

Qualifications

You have a University Degree in Engineering and experience from working with product development and/or creating and documenting product requirements as well as knowledge of certification and testing at 3rd party test laboratories. You have experience from development and certification of electronical devices. You are passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to mechatronic and systems engineering.

You have excellent communication skills and the ability to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You have supply chain knowledge. Experience from working with test and verification is a prerequisite as well as the ability to understand, interpret and apply technical requirements in the product development. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.

The position is permanent and located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day.
