The range is our identity and the product information is an essential part of the IKEA Concept. New technology is changing behaviour and the demands for new ways to interact and share real-time insights are essential for continuous growth. The goal of the IKEA Product Information Management (IPIM) Programme is to create a foundation that enables a digital ecosystem with the IKEA range at its heart. It means exploring and designing how data – about and around our products – is created and captured, how it is distributed and made available. IPIM is a programme that covers the whole IKEA value chain and all IKEA retailers.

We are currently looking for a Data Steward to join the Product Information Management team. Are you our new colleague?

Job Description

As a Data Steward you will embark on an exciting journey in the digital transformation of IKEA! You will help set-up the future capabilities for product information at IKEA by providing a framework and governance for data & information management. You will map out how product information is being created, enriched and consumed today. And you will help create the pre-conditions and capabilities for future data & information usage and the digital ecosystem we want to design and be part of - to create great and personalized experiences for our customers, suppliers and co-workers. It is about enabling accurate and trusted information about our products at the right time throughout the IKEA value chain.

As a Data Steward within IPIM your focus will be data stewardship on an operational level. You will be guiding in the existing as well as in new developed data lineage and flows, working together with other teams in the programme and supporting the projects. You will be working closely connected to and interact with many stakeholders in IKEA – building a strong network and securing involvement of relevant stakeholders in all we do. You will report to the IPIM Deputy Programme Manager, Jirko Hoogerwerf.

The responsibilities in your role include:
• Handle operational requests related to Information and Data Management (e.g. clarification of ownership and data sources;  investigation, analyse, coordinate)
• Handle internal and external requests for search, update and deletion of data
• Provide support with business and root cause analysis
• Ensure the integrity of data within all sources
• Ensure compliance to legal rules, IKEA policies and standards
• Secure that information is available in line with the needs from all stakeholders in the value chain
• Establish consistent data quality acceptance criteria and business rules for validation
• Identify data quality issues by analysing the results of data profiling and monitoring
• Measure the performance of data quality metrics and report on result
• Support in communicating the information definition, business rules and information usage to the stakeholders
• Support and educate in information governance matters and global directives

Qualifications

To succeed in this role you need to have an interest in home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home, and be excited by our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people.

We are looking for the following basic qualifications for all candidates:
• You have a strong knowledge of data management and analytics, for example based on a master degree in data analytics or similar
• You have at least 5 years of experience in information and data management and analytics
• You have an interest in IT solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency
• You are a problem solver, not only once, but scalable in a structured way
• You enjoy working in an agile and iterative way, in an environment that is not yet fully set
• You work easily with others outside the IPIM team in the rest of the IKEA value chain
• You can communicate effectively in English both writing and speaking

The position is permanent and located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has good commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day. Travelling based on business needs will be necessary.
