Job Description

As a Communication Business Partner, your role will be to produce reports, make presentations and support with both strategic and tactical internal communication. You will contribute to the business priorities by enabling an inspiring, consistent, timely, transparent and trustworthy communication and messaging around Business Steering and business performance in all dimensions required.

You will coach and support your colleagues on what communication channels to use and how to use them for best effect for the business purpose, always with the IKEA brand, culture and values in mind. You like to work in a shifting environment with both operational and strategic assignments.

About the assignment
As a Communication Business Partner, your main responsibilities are: 

  • to lead and develop communication as a strategic tool within and across Business Steering and our stakeholders.
  • to create the Communication plan as well as actively contribute to the alignment, development and execution of the Communication plan. Contribute to the planning of Business Steering report year cycle, and needed presentations aligned with R&S Meeting calendar.
  • to be a part of the Business Steering Management Team and actively contribute to leadership and to business plan development and implementation. Responsibility for key deliverables within the action plan.
  • to coach, advise and support leaders to plan and deliver the most effective, appropriate communication through the right channels as well as to strengthen their communicative leadership. 
  • to lead and coach planning, co-ordination, creation and implementation of business communication designed to inform, support and engage co-workers, suppliers and key stakeholders across IKEA; give direction on content, frequency and most effective media.
  • to create the right preconditions for communication production by providing a brief and/or communication plan.  Contribute to development and delivery of Business Performance reporting aligned to the year cycle.
  • to ensure a structured and planned process for change management and communication together with HR & Competence that engages co-workers in finding ways to leave the old and embrace the new for each defined and agreed change. 
About you
We are looking for a creative and solution-oriented person with good problem solving skills. You have a holistic approach with an eye for the details, always with simplicity in mind. You have excellent English language skills, both spoken and written and passion for words. You have a good sense of visual communication and basic layout skills. As a person, you are humble, have willpower and the ability to create togetherness and enthusiasm around you. You are a good listener with a strong drive and a proactive approach. You are service-minded with the ability to work with prioritization and deadlines, and you stay calm in situations of high stress. In the role as Communication Business Partner we expect you to have:
  • Experience from working with communication, preferably internal communication
  • Good understanding of different communication channels and shaping of communication platforms, messaging and approaches in context of strategic and tactical needs
  • An academic degree within communication or similar
  • Experience from supporting a business operating in a global context
  • Ability to create clear and inspiring messages
  • Passion for the IKEA values and business
