As a Product Development Engineer you will ensure the delivery of the furniture solutions of highest quality optimized for a possible implementation in IKEA Industry production units or external IKEA supplier. You will ensure that delivered solutions are “right from the beginning” through the experience, technical skill and creative and open mindset of a PDC Product Development Engineer.

Main assignments:

• Accomplishment of goals agreed in projects in collaboration with IKEA Industry, IOS and other customers,

• Finding best technical solution for furniture construction, creating documentation and drawings and production process/technology,

• Active participation in the furniture, material and technique development, full engagement in the workshop with multiple project teams,

• Business trips, mainly to Almhult in Sweden but also to other factory sites in Poland and abroad.

• Education: Bsc, MSc in Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Wood technology

•  Experience: Industrial design, wood, furniture construction, production process, engineering,

• Has well developed attention to details, team oriented, diplomatic, enjoys working with people from other cultures and countries, curious, motivated, organized,

• Knowledge or experience from Industrial Design and/or advanced CAD and simulation tools is a plus,

• English is required on a communicative level (at least B1), so that a person can make presentations, discuss issues over phone, write emails and be understood. Understanding of technical documentation written in English is also a must,

• Comfortable work with MS Office suite (especially MS Excel), familiar with MS Windows and knowledge of CAD/CAM solutions (Solidworks).
