About the job

As a Material & Technology Engineer you are part of the plastic product development and product improvements in dialogue and cooperation with the HFB and with category business team for the execution and follow up.

You secure the feasibility of project through a management of the requirements industrialization of the product and of the use of the right the technologies.

You also perform pre and post calculation of the project deliverables.

You support the category teams to make analysis a draw conclusions taking the right business decisions a secure the implementation.

You are a good communicator in English, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way. 

About the assignment

  • As a Material & Technology Engineer you initiate, lead the project management of “NEWS, RUNNING” range and recycling and renewable plastic agenda.
  • You will work in cooperation with the category sourcing specialist the product engineers as well as other MTE’s and the category EQL. 
  • Here are other tasks that you will have during this assignment: 
  • Develop the part design in cooperation with development team, IKEA suppliers and mould makers.
  • Be the reference person for part design and construction across different development team
  • Design suitable products to enable the implementation of renewable and recycled materials
  • Design products for new and available technologies, aiming for high efficiency and Quality
  • Re-engineers products for improvement
  • Support compliance securing right material and specification and drawings
  • Re-engineers products for "Overtag"
  • Takes part in global projects according to specific project assignments.

 

Qualifications

You are a passionate engineer with motivation and at least 5 years’ experience in plastic products and production. You have good knowledge about production and Six sigma/lean tools and production processes. You can balance strategic long term view with clear business needs here and now. You have experience of leading projects in complex environment. You have knowledge in:

  • Plastic polymers
  • Plastic product requirements, test procedures and compliance
  • Product risk analysis (FMEA) for plastic products
  • CAD (SOLID WORKS)
  • Simulation software (FEA & FEM)  
  • General understanding of Mould flow simulation
  • General understanding in moulds for plastic products
